Status:
I seem to have the same bug on my system on Ubuntu 10.10 amd64.
Unfortunately I cannot remove gcu-plugin as it is not installed. I am
not really sure about the implications as acroread and flash are happily
working. Only thing is that the error messages are a bit annoying each
time I use apt or
I can confirm these steps in Lucid. It would appear selecting the
NVidia device would make sense, but it results in this error message.
What is odd is that if I set it as 'default' it will then go through the
motions of 'recording' but when it's done I get an error and nothing is
played back
farchumbre, thank you for your help on this bug and making Ubuntu
better. The next step is to take your proposed solution and make it into
a patch ( https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/HowToFix ) for others to test
with and, barring exception, merged into libtranslate.

I'm also wondering why your gnome-power-bugreport.txt attachment shows
Distro version: squeeze/sid. If you are using Debian you should report
this to them, not us. Although if you are using Ubuntu, then it looks
like I've found another bug :)
