For the developers, the following is copied from the
DpkgTerminalLog.txt:
Preparing to replace hplip-data 3.10.2-2ubuntu2 (using
.../hplip-data_3.10.2-2ubuntu2.1_all.deb) ...
Traceback (most recent call last):
File /usr/sbin/update-python-modules, line 440, in module
shutil.rmtree(dir)
It seems that I can set intel_idle.max_cstate as high as 3 to fix the
bug on my Samsung N150+, and it isn't until intel_idle.max_cstate=4 that
I start to run into problems.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. It seems that there was an error caused by a corrupted
archive. Please execute the following commands, as it will clear your
package cache, in a terminal ( Applications - Accessories - Terminal )
:
sudo apt-get
Got things working by adding managed=true as well (Lucid 10.04.1
upgraded from Karmic 9.10).
But nm-connection-editor definitely needs to be able manage this
managed setting! Really frustrating to have configured network just
disappear when selecting Make available to all users. And then, first
could you try Ubuntu-10.10 to see if that version solves the problem for
you? you could download the ISO and start it in Live session just to
check if the issue is present there too.
