i couldn't figure out how to get nautilus to keep from spawning, i
copied the autostart .desktop to .local/share/applications and changed
it to not autostart but apparently that didn't override the main one; i
also tried nautilus -q, and searching for whatever gconf keys are
restarting it, to no av
i use this quick little script whenever yarssr decides to freeze up. though it
hasn't done so since i increased its update time to 10 minutes.
-running this will kill and restart yarssr. works great on my mint11 and
ultimate edition 2.8 installs. use @ your own risk ;)

under a high CPU workload

it worked normally. I'm thinking it's a graphics driver issue.

Default Ubuntu desktop shown. It should read Ubuntu 2D but does not.
I don't know what log file would show where the default Ubuntu was set.

I have de same problem, the instaler can't write de partition table
because it can't umount /cdrom.
If you do a: "sudo umount -lrf /cdrom" then the instalation continues
but it crashes.
I think because it cannot acces /cdrom data and it cannot mount or
umount /cdrom.

As I pointed out in comment 3, the problem has been identified upstream
in gtkpod.
The issue is that the new database format used by the iPhone cannot be
parsed by gtkpod.

unfortunately post #29 is not a solution, not because is not trusted, but
because no explanation is given on what was patched.
Also the patched packages and NVIDIA drivers provided in post #29 used are
getting outdated.
