Once my laptop screen is dimmed I can not read it any more. Dimming
happens even when dim is not selected in the screen settings. It
also happens before logging in. There is nothing I can do to un-dim the
screen (i.e. moving the mouse, keyboard, but also using the
package superseded, and now that scribus-ng builds, no rdepends anymore.

In Jaunty, I could select extended or programming mode, close the
calculator, start it again and it was still in the selected mode. In
Natty it starts always in standard mode. Please make it remember the
mode.

The embedded HDA Intel sound card on Mac Mini is not always available when the
boot sequence enters rc.local: attempts to access the device there (e.g. via
aplay) often fail.
My current workaround is to wait for the PCM devices (/proc/asound/card0/pcm0p,
