I haven't yet looked back at your image, but I think this has to do with
devtmpfs being mounted.
I do believe this affects both lxc and libvirt (+lxc), but your
reproduction of it happens with libvirt, right?
The tool creating containers (lxc or libvirt) has to mount a private
instance of devpts

Thank you for taking the time to report this crash and helping to make
this software better. This particular crash has already been reported
and is a duplicate of bug #852383, so is being marked as such.
On second thought, the last event is not cleanup, since it is
recognizing the switch as _on_ for idx{0,1}. It looks like the device
might have to be initialized first before it sends the signal that the
rfkill switch has been turned on. Here is more complete what's going on
before that:
I performed the commands Dave suggested, rebooted, ran Update Manager,
and the errors and lingering gnome-settings-daemon update are gone. I
assume problem SOLVED. Ubuntu has an awesome community, with members
like Dave Lentz. Have happy holidays Dave, and thanks!

Hi Steve,
One addition is to check fstab for LVM usage. If used, 'mount --bind'
the /dev to gain access to the /dev/mapper entries.
The second thing I found out is that makedumpfile requires /tmp to be
writable, so it is not possible to restrict / to be read-only.

The only noticeable differences in output between initialization and
the re-enablement of device via rfkill.
