It still appears to change the java command. But it doesn't appear to
let me run a jar from the command line (note: the jar exists, is
executable, and nautilus had the file association of jar changed to
OpenJDK Java 7 Runtime on the Open With tab of it's properties).
As a test added the firefox-next ppa to an 11.10 install where SC worked the
language was selected., (English/US).
After upgrading 8.X10.X, SC failed as there was no language selected
when reopening FF
Same was true when then creating a new user, logging in opening FF.

Jack, the particular file you are looking for to disable or enable system-wide
is
/usr/share/gnome/autostart/libcanberra-login-sound.desktop
For Ubuntu 12.04, the login sound is currently planned to be disabled by
default, so the Help will have to be adjusted anyway to reverse the

headphones is deleting the device and repairing it.
