I updated the BIOS of this laptop from 1.33 to 1.37, no change. I then installed precise alpha 2 and upgraded, also no change. Still freezes. Finally, I reinstalled precise alpha 2 but 32bits, not 64 as I had before, and now it works. I can dimm the backlight without having the laptop freeze.
