[Bug 951343] Re: authentication fails silently with long pam_authz_search filter

2012-03-15 Thread Chris J Arges
This patch increases the filter size per the bug report.
The latest SVN checkout of the code shows that this would need to be an
upstream patch.

[Bug 780220] Re: pip install numpy fail in virtualenv

2012-03-15 Thread Robert Muil
Ok, regarding my previous comment: this seems to have been caused by a
particular of my setup. My python virtualenv was in ~/usr/local... and
this was being 'corrected' by the setup script to ~/local...

So, moving my virtualenv seems to avoid this problem: worth knowing for
anyone who likes to install things under ~/usr.

The installation is now failing with a permissions error - it is
obviously attempting to install into /usr/local/lib - even though I'm
within a virtualenv. I don't understand this, but it's not part of this
bug so I'll leave it.

Summary: this bug is considered fixed but I think the fix breaks for
users who have use ~/usr... in their virtualenv.

Unity in Ubuntu builds pot templates, other new strings have appeared recently.
I have duped this because of the second problem, as that is not fixed yet,

2012-03-15 Thread Fabián Rodríguez
** Description changed:

  [needs-packaging] pac

  PAC is a Perl/GTK Gnome replacement for SecureCRT/Putty/etc... It
  provides a GUI to configure SSH/Telnet connections: users, passwords,
  EXPECT regular expressions, macros, etc. You like 'SSHMenu'? If so, you
  must check this tool.

  * Unique Linux application to impletement almost every SecureCRT's
functionality.
  * Remote and local macros.
  * Remotely send commands with EXPECT regexp.
  * Cluster connections!! Connections on same cluster share keystrokes!!
  * Proxy support.
  * Serial/tty connection via cu/tip/remote-tty connections!!
  * Pre/post connections local executions.
  * TABS OR WINDOWS for connections!!
  * Quick acces to configured connections via tray menu icon.

[Bug 911871] Re: FTBFS on amd64, i386 for test-rebuild-20111222 (gcc-4.7)

2012-03-15 Thread Siarhei-siamashka
This regression has been fixed in gcc:
http://gcc.gnu.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=52355

Now bluez builds fine at least with gcc 4.7.0-RC-20120302 and this issue
should not be a problem for gcc 4.7.0 release. Thanks to Fedora people
who were the first to escalate the issue upstream.

[Bug 956046] [NEW] intel driver fails to use dual-link LVDS if lid is down at boot

2012-03-15 Thread Ryan Lortie
Public bug reported:

This email more or less describes the exact situation I experience on my
T420 with Ubuntu:

http://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/intel-gfx/2012-March/015473.html

I have a dock and external monitors. If I boot the laptop with the lid
down then when I open the lid, the display is corrupted.

The thread has a patch in it here:
http://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/intel-gfx/2012-March/015486.html

I'm going to test that out and report back.

[Bug 951556] Re: Cancel button don'n work on Add URL... dialog

2012-03-15 Thread David Futcher
Attached is a patch that I have added to the upstream bug report. In
case we can't get an upstream release with this fixed before P release,
I thought it might be useful to post it here. Upstream may have a
different or better way to do it, but the fix attached has definitely
sorted it for me.

[Bug 956038] [NEW] resize2fs allows resize beyond maximum fs size - corrupts fs

2012-03-15 Thread Neil Wilson
Public bug reported:

If you resize a 1G partition to more than 1T the filesystem becomes
corrupted offline and errors on-line.

resize2fs does not check the maximum size of the filesystem before
initiating the resize.

To reproduce:

$ dd if=/dev/zero of=tiny bs=1 count=0 seek=1G
$ mkfs.ext4 -F -J size=128 tiny

Maximum filesystem blocks=268435456

$ cp tiny xxl
$ resize2fs xxl 1310720M

resize2fs 1.42 (29-Nov-2011)
Resizing the filesystem on xxl to 335544320 (4k) blocks.
The filesystem on xxl is now 335544320 blocks long.

$ e2fsck xxl
e2fsck 1.42 (29-Nov-2011)
e2fsck: Group descriptors look bad... trying backup blocks...
One or more block group descriptor checksums are invalid. Fixy?

[Bug 835972] Re: after resume the Disconnected - you are now offline notification doesn't disappear

I see this one, too. It's actually the biggest source of UI confusion
when I hand my snazzy Ubuntu laptop to someone who's only used Windows
or Mac OS X, and it really is confusing.

I would expect this particular message to disappear (or be replaced with
you are now connected) when network connectivity has been restored.
That's usually 5-10 seconds after I open my laptop at at the office or
at home.

[Bug 955434] Re: dropbox icon using wrong monochrome color

2012-03-15 Thread Simon Steinbeiß
Hm, in fact there are some bright monochrome icons, but they seem to have the
wrong name.
Since I'm not a dropbox-user, could you please test whether this fixes the
issue for you:
Go to /usr/share/icons/elementary-xfce-dark/panel/22 and rename the dropbox*
icons to dropboxstatus* (e.g. dropbox-busy.svg to dropboxstatus-busy.svg). Then
run sudo gtk-update-icon-cache /usr/share/icons/elementary-xfce-dark and
restart your session.

If that fixes the issue I'll push those changes to the icon-theme.
Thanks!

[Bug 931818] Re: Elantech Touchpad become unusable in precise

2012-03-15 Thread greg
On my system with Elantech touchpad, there sometimes is trouble with
detecting motion events. For example, if I scroll through a menu with
the pointer, the menu items are not hilighted as they should be, and the
overlay scrollbar does not work correctly.

Curiously, attaching a USB mouse fixes this somewhat (that is, it works
correctly with the touchpad, as soon as a mouse is plugged in!), and so
does forcing the psmouse driver to the imps protocol, so that the
touchpad isn't handled by synaptics anymore.

[Bug 812669] Re: Unity's application menu bar accessibility problems

2012-03-15 Thread Premek Brada
Thanks h3 for filing this as a bug. The inaccessible controls annoy me
rather often especially as clicking inside the max'd window (to give it
focus by mouse) tends to be tricky with applications that have dense
layout filled with controls (e.g. gmail).

So here is my +1 for this to be fixed.

[Bug 537947] Re: Location of indicators should be user configurable

2012-03-15 Thread James
I have just done a new install of 12.04 (precise) and coming from 10.04,
I was quite frustrated I can't re-arrange my indicators. Definite
affects me here, and it doesn't look like this will be fixed, seeing
as this has been open for 3 versions of Ubuntu.

[Bug 955451] Re: Default Maas name is Www-data's Maas

2012-03-15 Thread Raphaël Badin
I don't really like how My Maas sounds but maybe that's just me. This
is a really easy fix once we agree on what the default should be:
$hostname Maas … $Hostname Maas?

[Bug 955546] Re: gnome-terminal crashes with forked command not found if path is too long

2012-03-15 Thread Richard Eames
Unfortunately, there isn't a crash report. I've tried to get a backtrace
in gdb, but gnome-terminal forks or something so I don't know how to
follow it.

I've also managed to reproduce this on precise.

Steve, would you be able to apply the patch in

works?

[Bug 894584] Re: ath9k driver causes kernel panic

2012-03-15 Thread David Duffey
I just realized I was still running the upstream kernel, like an idiot,
and was not booting the latest precise kernel.

It went 2 hours yesterday on the latest precise kernel without a kernel panic,
so if you don't hear
from me, assume it's fixed from my perspective.

If there is another panic I'll post it... otherwise assume it's fixed
for me.

Thanks,
