them as they arrive—I think the API was basically designed for IRC),

I am on Ubuntu12.04 64bit updated to 8.7.2012.
opticalraytracer has an icon which is shown after console call in the
unity side panel.
The icon should be also visible in unity dash for direct program
starting, so that a user has not to make the way through the console.

With science-physics metapackage ships maxima.
The problem is that there is no GUI that ships with it.
Available are enough GUIs.
That should be changed. On possibility is to import the same GUI as in
one of the other science

Can the reporter do two things here
1) try this on ubuntu 12.04
2) grab an xwininfo -all of the window + xwininfo -root -tree
Might help with debugging.

Hi, again. Just to add that according to the forum:
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1930450 it is working for some
the hybrid ATI/Intel with the fglrx. Seems that on the next Ubuntu 12.04
it is a great chance that this may work.
