default place for GRUB was the MBR instead of adhering to standard PC
architecture practices (which all other OSes, including *nix version,
followed), of putting the kernel loaders in the partition and
I've observed this on kubuntu 12.04 beta. But the window was with some
arabian text(the only readable phrase was 'flasplayer-plugin-installer')
and Ok button.
So maybe the bug is happens when upgrading flash-player.

Would like to add that I see this issue and it's also down to my USB
bluetooth dongle.
With the dongle plugged in, it immediately resumes. With it unplugged,
it works fine. I alternated several times and observed consistent
behaviour.
Model is:

After updating to precise, whenever I run apt-get update, there are a number of
errors that come up in the terminal:

The pulseaudio volume control (master output volume in sound settings,
or the volume applet/keys) does not seem to affect the catual playback
volume of my headphone output. The application-specific volume control
in the sound settings does change the volume as expected.

Oh right, I keep forgetting you're running Ubuntu 11.10. In that case,
when Banshee is running, you should see a triangular indicator on the
left of the Banshee icon. When it quits, the triangular indicator
disappears.

I have the same issue. Hard to discriminate which are the faulty files
though. Some work fine, other have only sound, others don't work at all.
All of them were reading fine in 11.10. What I see in the properties is
that the dimensions property of the faulty videos is 0x0...
