This bug affects me too!
Lenovo Ideapad Y450 with a GT-240M video card.
I installed ubuntu 12.04 LTS and i got exactly the six screens as mentioned
above.
Also the FN brightness button doesn't dim the screen brightness!
After that i installed the additional drivers, but it remains the

my location or time zone or whatever, I selected Detroit, Michigan,
Eastern Time Zone. When I booted up, I saw that my locale settings were
for Canada, rather than the US. So, I had Canadian date format,
Locutus, I see your changing packages around in that PPA, is there going
to be that proven to work 7.0.27 in a ppa, because people are already
coming back on my end about the bug being back, with the version
currently in ppa:costamagnagianfranco/boinc

This bug has been a problem since Natty. It still shows up in Precise.
If you enable window previews in Gnome Classic and hover your mouse over
a window title, the preview will appear. But it will only disappear if
you move your mouse horizontally on the taskbar. If you move your mouse
Enabling vsync in my netbook (nvidia Ion platform) causes a major increase in
cpu usage, and as side effect every application has a lower framerate, it is
particularly evident in video clips.
Disabling it, everything becomes smooth.

software-properties-gtk is nice for a desktop system, but on an Ubuntu
server (e.g., EC2 instances) it is not installed by default.
On a fresh Ubuntu 12.04 LTS Precise server I would need to give the
following extra instructions:
