This worked for me as well. Did sudo apt-get install librtmp0/precise,
followed by sudo apt-get -f install, which recognized all the unmet
dependencies and, voila! I'm up and running some of these aps, like

After performing an apt-search via the command line, I had conformation that
the requested package is *not* in my software list, whatever tool I
so the solution for me to get all this automajic bridging to work is to add
this line to /etc/network/interfaces:
iface eth0 inet dhcp
Such that my /etc/network/interfaces look like:
auto lo
iface lo inet loopback
auto eth0
iface eth0 inet dhcp
Then reboot.
That line seems to stop

I have had the same Virtualbox freeze after upgrading to 12.04 from
11.10. Prior to this Virtualbox worked flawlessly. I tried some of the

Case of Ubuntu inside a VM is not something we can easily fix, as we
need to globally listen for any Alt key presses. There's no easy way
around this.
The tap detection code does indeed take into account all other
keypresses. The HUD should only show if you press release the Alt key
quickly, and
still happens at 12.04...
