Well unfortunately it seems that the 3.2 kernel in 12.04 LTS changed
enough to make the sk98lin driver not compile or work correctly
(grabbing the source from Marvell).
I really hope that somebody from Ubuntu can triage and patch this
already. without the correct driver, ethernet performance is
I should add, the only workaround to keep the sky2 driver up longer is
to modprobe sky2 disable_msi=1. MSI for it seems broken, though the IRQ
path still eventually breaks and even causes a kernel panic.

radeon.
And for me the system isn't completely frozen, I can CTRL-ALT-F1 over
and see the logs there. Killing the session restarts it and sometimes

I can start nautilus -n then.
Until 11.10 the desktop did not need to be stopped before.
So it is a problem of XFCE. If gnome support is enabled in the settings,
it should not start xfdesktop before nautilus. That's the problem to
solve.

Acer Aspire One D260-A has this problem, both with the latest 12.04
pulseaudio, and also with the new version in the proposed repository.
The bypass using pavucontrol was successful.

I just tested itout and it works fine on x86_64 (second machine) - the
keyboard class does not seem to be a problem - the keys on the headset
are actually volume control, so binding as a keyboard is fine.

Tested with 190 disabled, but still same fault.
While patch 208 is a keyboard patch, it really has nothing to do with
this.
Patch 13 is from debian and is quite ancient (from 2006), so doubting
that's going to be the cause of all this.
So, if this is indeed an xserver bug, I think it may be
