Hmm, indeed, I forgot that we are currently returning exit 0 instead
of exit 1. As nobody seems to be annoyed by that behaviour in Precise,
I supposed it's then fine to get rid of that hack in Quantal ;)
Removing the network-manager task and I'll make sure to pick up the fix

kernel that introduce this regression by testing some upstream kernels around

What I meant is that DNS resolution always fails at first, and then
after lots of tries, it starts to work. But now that I look at the logs,
it may just have been a fluke: it eventually works because one of the
reachable nameservers happens to reply fast enough.

Sorry, but it has always been this way, and Firefox used to set
LD_LIBRARY_PATH as well. It no longer does that as it has a different

I'm testing Ubuntu Quantal live i386 20120626.1 and trying to follow up
on bug 1017879 but even using ubuntu-bug casper I get the error shown
in the attached screenshot.
I'd think it's clearly an apport failure because I do have the ability
to connect to the net to file

launch gnome-session-properties (aka: Startup Applications) from the
applications menu simply because its .desktop file contains that:
NoDisplay=true
