OK, here's a quick update. I collected alsa-info data, for Joseph's
fixed 3.2.0-26 kernel as well as for a failing 3.2.0-23 Precise stock
kernel. For each kernel I did a collection with the headphones plugged
in, and one without them. I'll attach them in a bit.

By the way, I now remember that the E1750 was not the modem I had when I
filed the report. The old modem is no longer in my possession, so I

like some sort of a solution (if not the solution most people probably
prefer);
While I am able to call out from empathy, on the SIP account (by manually
entering the phone number),
having the phone number in gno

I'm not seeing this with a stock build of ubuntu through
deebootstrap(latest). most if not all window managers/desktop(s) are
installed.. will look to see if I see this message.
