I noticed that this fix has been backported into linux-image-3.2.0-27.43
(precise-updates). I updated, and it works now! That is, the error
AIGLX error: Calling driver entry point failed is gone now. Gnome
3D/Unity works like a charm.

WIll there be any fix soon? Because it makes me unable to work. The
problem is system wide - when the jump occurs I click accidentally on
Unity icons (so it's not binded to any application - like GIMP or
MyPaint). I use MyPaint for my work, so fix only for GIMP isn't enough.

This happens from time to time, not always, apparently at random.
From the dropdown menu with a power-on/off-like icon on the top-right
corner of the screen in ubuntu I select
That's not going to happen. Please don't let this bug expire just
because one particular person (me) won't test the upstream kernel.
Anyway, in Ubuntu 12.04 the option to hibernate has been disabled
completely.
