[Bug 1015183]
Yes, I can see how time consuming this must be. Thanks for continuing to work on it, at OLPC we can promise you some testing once code is ready. In the mean time I will add the latest 2 patches to our development builds for further testing: Xi: Do not handle ET_TouchOwnership in ProcessTouchEvent dix: copy event in TouchConvertToPointerEvent correctly -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1015183 Title: Inconsistent mouse events for Acer T231H multitouch monitor To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/hwe-next/+bug/1015183/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1170837] [NEW] apple macbookair1,1 microphones not working
Public bug reported: I'm running linux ubuntu 12,04 on a mba. I can't make the microphones (neither external nor internal) work. Speaking with some wise guys, it seems there is a problem with linux kernel trying to decipher apple (intentionally) corrupted bios, in particular the mic pins are wrongly assigned. The output from alsa scipt is at http://www.alsa- project.org/db/?f=be223eb44b2a00f0849a924678698244848ca61b while hda- jack-sense-test -a (with external mic in) gives me Pin 0x14 (Internal Speaker): present = No Pin 0x15 (Green HP Out): present = Yes Pin 0x16 (Not connected): present = No Pin 0x17 (Not connected): present = No Pin 0x18 (Not connected): present = No Pin 0x19 (Not connected): present = No Pin 0x1a (Not connected): present = No Pin 0x1b (Not connected): present = No Pin 0x1c (Not connected): present = No Pin 0x1d (Not connected): present = No Pin 0x1e (Not connected): present = No Pin 0x1f (Not connected): present = No A nice proposal would be to compile the latest linux kernel and run hda- jack-retask to try to set the configuration right (in the case of Realtek codec, the missing things I'm supposed to check are either some vendor-specific COEF verbs, EAPD or GPIO setup.) Since I'm not that familiar with this last part of the story, can anyone help me through this process? [Bug 1151622] Re: The usb driver appears to fail
I think i'm experiencing the same bug. Motherboard: ASUS P9X79 Deluxe, suddenly usb devices on some ports disappear. This appears from kernel: kernel: [18170.960026] xhci_hcd :06:00.0: xHCI host not responding to stop endpo kernel: [18170.960033] xhci_hcd :06:00.0: Assuming host is dying, halting host. kernel: [18170.960074] xhci_hcd :06:00.0: HC died; cleaning up kernel: [18170.960139] usb 5-2: USB disconnect, device number 2 kernel: [18170.960146] usb 5-2.3: USB disconnect, device number 3 kernel: [18171.011433] usb 5-2.4: USB disconnect, device number 4 kernel: [18171.011438] usb 5-2.4.3: USB disconnect, device number 5 kernel: [18171.011984] usb 6-2: USB disconnect, device number 2 I think the error state remains across soft reboots such that you have to physically power off, but can't test it right now. It happens with all kinds of devices ranging from usb 1-3, low power (mouse/keyboard), with and without a hub in the port. Since several motherboard ports drop out simultaneously I imagine they are all tied to one usb controller or one internal hub. Very annoying bug, hope this confirmation helps. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1151622 Title: The usb driver appears to fail To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1151622/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1140716] Re: [regression] 3.5.0-26-generic and 3.2.0-39-generic GPU hangs on Sandybridge
This is important: GPU hangs always have basically the same symptoms so are very hard to tell apart. It is _quite likely_ many people subbed to this bug are having unrelated actual bugs. That is going to make verification of any fix really hard. I would strongly recommend anyone that believes they have this bug to collect the following file while their system is hung, and post it here: /debug/dri/0/i915_error_state This must be collected while the system is hung (e.g. by ssh'ing into it). The registers get zero'd out once the machine reboots so don't bother collecting it when your system *isn't* frozen. Two compare two people's hangs, compare the top twenty lines or so. Especially look at values of PGTBL_ER, EIR, IPEHR. [Bug 87220]
(In reply to comment #42) Unfortunately it is only possible to do 90° rotations this way. The only thing I can make for you is an easier conversion to a draw object but in my opinion the best thing to do in your case is to adjust the angle in an external tool like GIMP for example. To have such an tool built-in is also a good idea - but not so trivial to make. Dear Tomaž, thanks a lot for the explanation. Indeed, 90° rotations will be the first step which is enough for most use cases. For the skewed-scans-use-case I will continue to use an external tool (Gimp) to do this. The internal work-around to rotate in Draw and cutpaste to Writer usually leads to low quality graphics, unfortunately. To understand the difficulty of any-degree-rotations better: Is this then the aforementioned limitation in the drawing layer (which the Aw080 child workspace tries to solve) which makes these transformations difficult or is there a completely different problem? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/87220 Title: [Upstream] Wishlist: Add rotation of images to writer To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/df-libreoffice/+bug/87220/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1170624] Re: kdesvn won't start
Thanks for the quick reply. I checked my /etc/apt folder, and spotted this: cat /etc/apt/sources.list.d/svn.list deb http://opensource.wandisco.com/ubuntu lucid svn17 I commented that line out, did an apt-get udpate, reinstalled kdesvn and had no problem at all. Awhile ago I needed a more recent subversion installation but didn't want to upgrade the whole OS just for that, so I added that particular repo. Problem is, I forgot about that. So I think you can close this bug invalid. [Bug 1091663] Re: 3G is non-functional on 32GB+3G Nexus 7
I'm trying to use that packaging and copying in Alexanders code, and I can get it to build. I'm now however running into issues because modemmanager 0.8 doesn't seem to play well with my DBUS version (1.6.8) -starting the modem manager gives: [main.c:114] name_lost_cb(): Could not acquire the 'org.freedesktop.ModemManager1' service name At first I thought that was happening because I screwed up a modem manager installation (I installed and removed a few versions), but after purging all modem managers, removing all redundant org.freedesktop.ModemManager1.confs and having ps aux | grep -i modem not having any results, I started to doubt that. So I checked the code, and found it was crashing on gbus_own_name() in the main() in main.c. Main() differs quite a bit between the .6 and .8 versions, and as I understand it somewhere between .6 and .8 the manager was adapted to fit a wholly new DBus API. Would it be a good idea to try to adapt it to fit the older API? Rewriting Alexanders code to fit the 0.6 version seems like another option but also like a daunting task, as the internals of the modem manager also seem to have changed quite a bit since 0.6 (no bearers etc). But maybe that is still the easier way to try? The modem seems to be working in principle though, with wvdial I've been able to connect to a Vodafone APN by changing the dial command to AT+CGDATA= and the phone number to PPP and turning off the PIN, but the modem hung up after connecting and starting ppp (citing User request as the reason for the hangup). I'm probably screwing up the authentication or something there. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1091663 Title: 3G is non-functional on 32GB+3G Nexus 7 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/modemmanager/+bug/1091663/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1170150] Re: vmlinuz/initrd.img symlinks do not point to signed versions on kernel updates of secure boot UEFI machines
Bug 1091464 affects me (grub unable to chainload Windows), so as a workaround, I have a separate ESP on a USB stick. The stick boots Ubuntu 12.10 off the hard disk, and the stick is not mounted in the filesystem. I had been updating the stick's EFI/ubuntu/grub.cfg as each kernel update occurred, but thought I would instead just use the root symlinks, and avoid future grub updates to the stick. That is when I noticed that the symlinks' targets were the unsigned versions of the kernel, and reported the bug. Now grub WILL boot the unsigned kernels off the existing symlinks, and I can see no differences when signed vs. unsigned kernel is used, but I don't know how the symlinks are used by other programs, so something may break if the symlinks don't target the running kernel. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1170150 Title: vmlinuz/initrd.img symlinks do not point to signed versions on kernel updates of secure boot UEFI machines To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1170150/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1155327] Re: skype crashed with SIGSEGV in malloc@plt()
Quote from comment #39 in bug #1131636: I can use qupzilla with javascript and skype as well (LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/mesa/libGL.so.1 skype) Please note that frenchy82 is the only person I have noticed who reported that the LD_PRELOAD workaround did not work for him. So I get the impression that it was some other problem that was resolved for him with Qtwebkit 2.3.1, and that he now - unlike before - can start Skype using the LD_PRELOAD workaround. [Bug 1170697] Re: Sound not working after upgrading to 3.8.0-19
Hi, All 3.8.x are working perfectly except 3.8.0-19 What I noticed is: When I update my system from 3.8.0-18 to 3.8.0-19 sound stopped working. I rebooted to -18 and verified its working fine. again booted to -19 and no sound again! Then while remaining in -19, i just reinstall the kernel and extras and sound works after reboot. For the test, I removed -19 switched back to -18 and upgrade the system again and faced the problem. Seems like reinstalling the kernel while booting from it fixed the issue. I saw that blacklist file contained SoundCard, Alsa, and other sound related modules which are now okay after reinstall. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1170697 Title: Sound not working after upgrading to 3.8.0-19 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1170697/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
