[Bug 485873] Re: logwatch should report apparmor events

2013-05-28 Thread Steve Beattie
This unfortunately doesn't work by default in ubuntu because the setting
for audit.conf in /usr/share/logwatch/services/ points to the 'messages'
logfile which is no longer used in ubuntu. It should either be 'syslog'
or 'kernel'.

A secondary issue is that if auditd is enabled, events will only go to
/var/log/audit/audit.log, and there doesn't appear to be a default
configuration file for that.

Thanks!

So, I probably just did the stupidest thing ever, but I can't see how it
will make things worse.

I grabbed the out of date version, and the latest .dscs from unstable
and saucy and then imported them:

$ bzr branch ubuntu:mailman saucy
$ chdist apt-get sid source mailman
$ apt-get source mailman
$ cd saucy
$ bzr import-dsc ../mailman_2.1.15-1.dsc
$ bzr import-dsc ../mailman_2.1.15-1ubuntu2.dsc
$ bzr push :parent

Everything *seemed* to work okay and a subsequent `bzr branch
ubuntu:mailman` got the latest version, so I'm counting that as a
victory. :)

[Bug 1184932] Re: lxc-halt --name container shuts down host [12.04 3.8 kernel]

2013-05-28 Thread Serge Hallyn
Thanks for submitting this bug.

lxc-halt is not a command installed by the lxc package. Do you know
where you got the version of lxc you are running? Please show the
result of:

which lxc-halt
dpkg -S `which lxc-halt`

and append /etc/apt/sources.list and any /etc/apt/sources.list.d/* files
you have to this bug.

[Bug 1166649] Re: Multiple open vulnerabilities in tomcat6 in quantal and raring

2013-05-28 Thread Jamie Strandboge
Thanks for the debdiff!

Since Marc just updated precise, I compared your patches to his and noticed a
few things:
 * 0016-CVE-2012-3439.patch should be renamed 0013-CVE-2012-588x.patch since
CVE-2012-3439 was split out into CVE-2012-5885, CVE-2012-5886 and CVE-2012-5887
(as mentioned in the changelog)
 * 0016-CVE-2012-3439.patch had some additional whitespace changes not in the
upstream patch
 * 0016-CVE-2012-3439.patch does not match the changes in
http://svn.apache.org/viewvc/tomcat/tc6.0.x/trunk/java/org/apache/catalina/authenticator/DigestAuthenticator.java?r1=1380829r2=1380828pathrev=1380829.
 Specifically, your patch retains 'this.' in this chunk, but it should not (ie,
you use !this.opaque.equals):
@@ -587,7 +623,7 @@
 }

 // Validate the opaque string
-if (!this.opaque.equals(opaque)) {
+if (!opaque.equals(opaqueReceived)) {
 return false;
 }
 * 0014-CVE-2012-4431.patch has additional whitespace changes
 * 0015-CVE-2012-4534.patch has additional whitespace and typo changes
 * debian/changelog is not formatted in the normal manner, with one stanza per
CVE

It seems like you might have applied the patches by hand. If so, I
encourage you to use the 'patch' utility. At this point, since there are
now additional fixes, I think I am going to pull Marc's new patches and
where the patches differ, update the changelog, run through QRT and
publish. Thanks for your work on this!

[Bug 1185160] [NEW] no way to see what user has a node allocated

2013-05-28 Thread Scott Moser
Public bug reported:

$ maas-cli admin node read node-56745bf8-c7a3-11e2-a421-d4ae527ac129
{
status: 6,
macaddress_set: [
{
resource_uri:
/MAAS/api/1.0/nodes/node-56745bf8-c7a3-11e2-a421-d4ae527ac129/macs/00:25:90:4c:f0:34/,
mac_address: 00:20:20:20:20:20
},
{
resource_uri:
/MAAS/api/1.0/nodes/node-56745bf8-c7a3-11e2-a421-d4ae527ac129/macs/00:25:90:4c:f0:35/,
mac_address: 00:30:30:30:30:30:
}
],
netboot: false,
hostname: maas-1-08.mydomain.example.com,
power_type: ipmi,
system_id: node-56745bf8-c7a3-11e2-a421-d4ae527ac129,

],
resource_uri:
/MAAS/api/1.0/nodes/node-56745bf8-c7a3-11e2-a421-d4ae527ac129/
}

The above shows me that this node is in status '6' (which is
allocated), but gives me no way to know *who* owns it. Just that it
is someone. (I can tell its not me by doing list-allocated, but its not
obvious here).

That would seem fine, and possibly a security decision, but I'm an
admin. In the web-ui I can see 'allocated to bob'.

Also, as I'm admin, I'd really like it to show me IPMI data too. Its
hardly useful to have to go to the web UI and click 3 times to see that.

[Bug 211631] Re: Network is brought down before network filesystems are unmounted (CIFS timeout at shutdown)

2013-05-28 Thread Steve Langasek
Markus, your screenshot shows a network-manager error:

  nm-dispatcher.action: Caught signal 15, shutting down...

This indicates that some part of NM is not being correctly guarded from
/etc/init.d/sendsigs, resulting in abnormal termination that breaks the
network connection before network filesystems are being unmounted.
Network Manager has previously been fixed for such bugs, but it seems to
have recurred.

Please file a new bug report against the network-manager package
including the screenshot and this information, and paste the number of
the new bug here.

[Bug 1185261] [NEW] MaaS nodes being enlisted with multiple network cards fail to commission

2013-05-28 Thread Eric Frost
Public bug reported:

Allowing MaaS to do it's own DHCP/DNS but isolating it onto its own
network segment and having nodes with two network interfaces (one
interface connected to the network segment the Maas controllers are on
and the second interface connected to another (different) network
segment that has external internet access) results in failure to
commission nodes properly.

The nodes correctly start up, contact the server, boot and
sit...eventually printing various apt-get error messages about being
unable to connect to external sites before ultimately powering off and
changing the state on the Nodes page from commissioning to ready. It
seems that only one interface is being brought up (the one that
contacted the MaaS controller) and the other one is ignored.

This was tested on a fresh 12.04.2 server install and using the MaaS
stable PPA package version 1.2+bzr1373+dfsg-0ubuntu1~12.04.1~ppa1.

[Bug 1093765] Re: switching style of paragraph switches direction

2013-05-28 Thread Inkbug
Hi!

As I commented above, this is still happenning in Ubuntu 13.04,
LibreOffice 4.0.2.2.

When I open the file, it opens with a line of text going right-to-left.
When I press Ctrl-1, it switches to Heading 1 style, but is now going
left-to-right instead of right-to-left.

2013-05-28 Thread Christopher M. Penalver
Martin Gamwell Dawids, marking this bug Invalid is well within Ubuntu
Bug Control and Ubuntu Bug Squad triage procedures as noted in
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Responses#Bugs_resolved_after_update_or_config_change
.

As well, the Ubuntu Kernel team has made it clear they prefer a single,
separate report per user, per hardware combination, per problem. For more on
this, please see please see the Ubuntu Kernel team article:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelTeam/KernelTeamBugPolicies#Filing_Kernel_Bug_reports

the Ubuntu Bug Control team and Ubuntu Bug Squad team article:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/BestPractices#X.2BAC8-Reporting.Focus_on_One_Issue

and Ubuntu Community article:
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs#Bug_reporting_etiquette

As this bug is marked Invalid, if you have any further questions about
this you are welcome to contact me directly, or take this to a more
appropriate forum.

Thank you for your understanding.

[Bug 1065222] Re: 168c:002b eMachines e525 Ubuntu cant connect to wifi repeater

2013-05-28 Thread Christopher M. Penalver
Kangarooo Jānis, could you please confirm this issue exists with the
latest development release of Ubuntu (Saucy Salamander)? ISO images are
available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/ . If the
issue remains, could you please run the following command in the
development release from a Terminal
(Applications-Accessories-Terminal), as it will automatically gather
and attach updated debug information to this report:

apport-collect -p linux replace-with-bug-number

Also, could you please test the latest upstream kernel available
(v3.10-rc3-saucy) following https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds ? It
will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Please do not
test the kernel in the mainline kernels archive directory daily folder, but the
one all the way at the bottom. Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please
comment on which kernel version specifically you tested. If this bug is fixed
in the mainline kernel, please add the following tags:
kernel-fixed-upstream
kernel-fixed-upstream-VERSION-NUMBER

where VERSION-NUMBER is the version number of the kernel you tested. For
example:
kernel-fixed-upstream-v3.10-rc3

This can be done by clicking on the yellow circle with a black pencil icon next
to the word Tags located at the bottom of the bug description. As well, please
remove the tag:
needs-upstream-testing

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the following tags:
kernel-bug-exists-upstream
kernel-bug-exists-upstream-VERSION-NUMBER

As well, please remove the tag:
needs-upstream-testing

If you are unable to test the mainline kernel, please comment as to why
specifically you were unable to test it and add the following tags:
kernel-unable-to-test-upstream
kernel-unable-to-test-upstream-VERSION-NUMBER

Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug's
Status as Confirmed. Please let us know your results. Thank you for your
understanding.

  I have TL-WR340G router my repeater TL-WA500G set up to work BUT works
  with Windows, and Android, but not in Ubuntu. For 1/2 year I've tried
  different settings and setups using not bridge not repeater but
  universal repeater setting. So now i have HEX 128bit open WEP key (of
  course my repeater has only wep repeating or no key repeating function)
  and repeater has same HEX 128bit open WEP. Android was always even with
  non-compatible options able to connect. Like Hex key shared repeated
  open but on Android i put ASCII. Now i just tried on Windows and its
  working. So theres big problem in Ubuntu- cant connect no way to
  repeater.

GPratique, thank you for the link. Unfortunately, the public bugzilla is
not the preferred venue of reporting new bugs, or validating previously
reported ones for upstream maintainers or developers. Hence, Fibonnacci
would want to follow the instructions noted in

This looks like another duplicate of bug 1140716.
Could you please test the latest kernel in -updates (3.5.0-31.52) and confirm

[Bug 1093644] Re: [Samsung NP535U3C-A03DE] Blank screen on resume from suspend

2013-05-28 Thread Vsevolod Kukol
Hi,

I didn't realize that, cause I've disabled the suspend option in Gnome
and didn't use it since my last testings.

It seems to be working now! There must have been some update (I've
enabled security, updates, proposed and backports and the XOrg Edgers
PPA) that made it work.

Since I have not much time and its my mothers laptop now, its impossible
for me to test the mainline kernel right now. Would it help if I provide
some detailed information about the current working system? If yes,
something special?

[Bug 1090290] Re: zoo creates archives with wrong date and time on the filesystem

2013-05-28 Thread Jari Aalto
It took me a white to undertand where the date problem was, but I think
you're referring to this:

# Commands run in *one* big line so that date discrepancies are
minimized

   cd some safe dir

  rm -f *.zoo *.bak *.txt; \
  touch -d 2000-02-01 01:01:00 1-oldest.txt; \
  touch -d 2000-03-01 01:01:00 2-newest.txt; \
  date +# now: %Y-%m-%d %H:%M:%S; \
  zoo -add archive.zoo *.txt   /dev/null ; \
  ls -la | grep -Ev 'total| [.]' ; \
  zoo -list *.zoo

# now: 2013-05-28 10:25:22
-rw-r--r-- 1 user src0 2000-02-01 01:01 1-oldest.txt
-rw-r--r-- 1 user src0 2000-03-01 01:01 2-newest.txt
-rw-r--r-- 1 user src  240 2000-02-29 00:01 archive.zoo

Archive archive.zoo:
LengthCF  Size Now  Date  Time
  ---   -
   0   0%0   1 Feb 00 01:01:00+64    1-oldest.txt
   0   0%0   1 Mar 00 01:01:00+64    2-newest.txt
  ---   -
   0   0%0 2 files

NOTES

The date of the *.zoo archive is not the current date it was created,
but taken somehow from the date of the file that was added to it.

This looks characteristics to zoo; This also happens with options
-update and -freshen.

[Bug 1048156] Re: soffice.bin crashed with SIGSEGV in UpdateNativeMenu()

2013-05-28 Thread TheGhost
This is fixed in the current development version of Ubuntu as it uses
LibreOffice4.

For Quantal I don't need no attention anymore, because I use Raring now and
there it works.
If it is not fixed in Quantal the developers / Ubuntu / Canonical gambles away
their own reputation. It's sad for Quantal users but I guess that's the price
for Ubuntu's strange release model...
