It affects me also... :( IBM X31, radeon card. Suspend is blanking
screen, stopping fan and hd drive, but the backlight is still on. No
working key, even capslock is not affecting caps light to change. Only
way to stop it is hardreset. Same story for hibernation.

This solution fails on kernel 3.10:
