[Bug 1210761] [NEW] apache ignores ServerAlias directive when using Server Name Indication for SSL vhosts

2013-08-10 Thread Malvin
Public bug reported:

When using Server Name Indication as described in
https://wiki.apache.org/httpd/NameBasedSSLVHostsWithSNI the ServerAlias
directive is ignored. This results in both the wrong certificate being
used and the wrong content being sent.

Workaround: Create multiple vhosts with different ServerName directives, one
for each hostname.
See
http://serverfault.com/questions/377186/apache-namevirtualhost-on-port-443-ignores-serveralias

Still, the expected behaviour as described in the apache wiki is that
both the ServerName and ServerAlias directive should be used to
determine the right vhost to answer a request.

Update: using apache package 2.2.22-1ubuntu1.4 in 12.04 precise.

** Affects: apache2 (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New

[Bug 1210787] [NEW] mod_wsgi is segfaulting (11) under Apache 2.4 in Daemon Mode after startup / after first request

2013-08-10 Thread Stephan Adig
Public bug reported:

When using mod_wsgi 3.4 with apache 2.4 it will segfault directly when
configured in daemon mode.
This behaviour is also discussed here:

https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/modwsgi/yNdFjWrqgJw

The missing patch comes from upstream and is documented here:

https://code.google.com/p/modwsgi/source/detail?r=20979c8abd2f722d210d419b96c85e46a36e2d75

I applied the patch to the debian packages (which is the same as in
saucy and debian) and now it doesn't segfault anymore.

2013-08-10 Thread Christer Solskogen
Public bug reported:

With 3.8.0-28-generic stopping a container (at least if there under a

To repeat
Make sure you have that kernel (release kernel works fine) - its in the
raring-proposed.
Create a container (with ubuntu template)
Start it
Stop it

Sometimes it will stop the container, but the kernel will crash if you
start the container again.

[Bug 1192599] Re: writer: zoom fraction changes when clicking on figures

2013-08-10 Thread Darko Veberic
@Bryan : no, i expect zoom % not to change at all...?

the point is: page zoom is changing depending whether cursor is in text
or image is selected. try it for yourself: take a document with images
or the one attached to this bug report. choose view:zoom:entire page.
then place cursor somewhere in text, read the zoom factor given in the
lower right corner, then click on a image, read the zoom factor again.
it changes! slightly. in my case from 49% to 46%.

this triggers unnecessary redraws of the page which are not noticeable
in most cases but when you're trying to edit an A0 poster with heavy
images each change between text and images takes 5 minutes...! for what,
just to redraw the page with a slightly changed zoom factor? this is a
waste. i expect zoom not to change.

2013-08-10 Thread Paul Szabo
Dear Christopher,

About testing the latest kernel (with a development Ubuntu, which may be
unrelated to the kernel bug): would not it be better for you to test?
The feedback to you would be more immediate, allowing you to test kernel
tuneables, or maybe tweak/fix/patch the kernel sources.

Thanks, Paul

[Bug 1208218] Re: intermittent left-channel audio distortion

2013-08-10 Thread Raymond
you can also use hint string to disable these features

Hint Strings

The codec parser have several switches and adjustment knobs for
matching better with the actual codec or device behavior. Many of
them can be adjusted dynamically via hints strings as mentioned in
the section above. For example, by passing `jack_detect = no` string
via sysfs or a patch file, you can disable the jack detection, thus
the codec parser will skip the features like auto-mute or mict
auto-switch. As a boolean value, either `yes`, `no`, `true`, `false`,
`1` or `0` can be passed.

The generic parser supports the following hints:

- jack_detect (bool): specify whether the jack detection is available
at all on this machine; default true
- inv_jack_detect (bool): indicates that the jack detection logic is
  inverted
- trigger_sense (bool): indicates that the jack detection needs the
  explicit call of AC_VERB_SET_PIN_SENSE verb

[Bug 1210696] Re: Ridiculous download extra data just after release upgrade. Should download EVERYTHING prior to install

2013-08-10 Thread Daniel Letzeisen
I'm marking this 'Won't Fix' because of the aforementioned licensing
issue where the files cannot be included with the package. The MS fonts
are optional and some of them have free alternatives (liberation fonts).
I hope it did not affect your experience and that you can get them the
next time you're connected to the net.

[Bug 1210693] Re: Upgrade from 12.10 to 13.04 breaks Google Chrome

2013-08-10 Thread matteo sisti sette
1. It was not an older version, it was the latest (or that's what apt-get said)
2. Whether or not it can upgrade it, it should warn before uninstalling a
package (libudev0) on which another installed package (chrome) depends (no
matter whether it's in ubuntu's repositories)

An upgrade must not break third-party software installed on the system
without warning.

How can I fix this or should I just ignore it? Well, the first mail I
sent to the Kernel mailing list got rejected because some HTML got in. I

[Bug 1103018] Re: line6usb - POD Studio UX2 Playback problem. Very robotic and slightly slower than usual

2013-08-10 Thread John Warren
I have a Line6 TonePort UX1 and was having the same problem in 13.04
32bit so I tried this and it worked:

uname -r (for the version of kernal which was 3.8.0.27-generic)

Then I ran

sudo apt-get install linux-headers-3.8.0.27-lowlatency 3.8.0.27-generic

It asks you to confirm with Y or N once and let everything load.

The sound work perfectly now. This is first time posting on a board like
this sorry if I did it wrong. Good luck

[Bug 487695] Re: autoduplex constraints should be dropped

2013-08-10 Thread Olivier Berger
I think the change introduced by Till Kamppeter (make-duplex-page-sizes-
default.sh) now has side effects on the regular (not duplex), at least
for A4, where normal margins aren't used, and always set to the duplex
ones.

See Debian bug http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=655106
for more details.

I'd suggest improving the solution, or getting rid completely of this
make-duplex-page-sizes-default.sh if upstream is now working properly.

Thanks for caring.

[Bug 986724] Re: [Samsung NP900X3B-A01US] Lid state changes not detected

2013-08-10 Thread Christopher M. Penalver
adampaetznick, could you please test the latest upstream kernel available
following https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds ? It will allow
additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Please do not test the
daily folder, but the one all the way at the bottom. Once you've tested the
upstream kernel, please comment on which kernel version specifically you
tested. If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following
tags:
kernel-fixed-upstream
kernel-fixed-upstream-VERSION-NUMBER

where VERSION-NUMBER is the version number of the kernel you tested. For
example:
kernel-fixed-upstream-v3.11-rc4

This can be done by clicking on the yellow circle with a black pencil icon next
to the word Tags located at the bottom of the bug description. As well, please
remove the tag:
needs-upstream-testing

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the following tags:
kernel-bug-exists-upstream
kernel-bug-exists-upstream-VERSION-NUMBER

As well, please remove the tag:
needs-upstream-testing

If you are unable to test the mainline kernel, please comment as to why
specifically you were unable to test it and add the following tags:
kernel-unable-to-test-upstream
kernel-unable-to-test-upstream-VERSION-NUMBER

Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug's
Status as Confirmed. Please let us know your results. Thank you for your
understanding.

[Bug 1081533] Re: Suspend does not respond from prompt upon power button press

2013-08-10 Thread Christopher M. Penalver
Michael Brand, could you please test the latest upstream kernel available
following https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds ? It will allow
additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Please do not test the
daily folder, but the one all the way at the bottom. Once you've tested the
upstream kernel, please comment on which kernel version specifically you
tested. If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following
tags:
kernel-fixed-upstream
kernel-fixed-upstream-VERSION-NUMBER

where VERSION-NUMBER is the version number of the kernel you tested. For
example:
kernel-fixed-upstream-v3.11-rc4

This can be done by clicking on the yellow circle with a black pencil icon next
to the word Tags located at the bottom of the bug description. As well, please
remove the tag:
needs-upstream-testing

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the following tags:
kernel-bug-exists-upstream
kernel-bug-exists-upstream-VERSION-NUMBER

As well, please remove the tag:
needs-upstream-testing

If you are unable to test the mainline kernel, please comment as to why
specifically you were unable to test it and add the following tags:
kernel-unable-to-test-upstream
kernel-unable-to-test-upstream-VERSION-NUMBER

Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug's
Status as Confirmed. Please let us know your results. Thank you for your
understanding.

[Bug 1172908] Re: [Vaio T Series SVT15112CXS] USB 2.0 Ports Don't Work

2013-08-10 Thread FlashBuster
Why would you deliberately make this whole process a pain in the a** for us
Ubuntu users and force people to create duplicate bugs?! I've never seen a
bugtracker where people are actively encouraged to create duplicate bugs.
Is there somewhere a guideline to read after the reason for that, atleast? Just
actively invalidating the bug without telling the reason is kind of strange...
Why is this bugreport invalid?
The bug says I have a Sony Vaio T-Series laptop. The usb 2.0 ports are not
working. Obviously EVERY owner of this laptop and obviously it's some bug in
the kernel USB system, is it not?
Then again, how likely is it that Canonical fixes a Kernel bug.. might as well
install Fedora. RedHat atleast has a reputation for kernel development.

[Bug 1181789] Re: second call of 'initctl start' leads to fork instead of exec ('mount: / is busy' during shutdown)

2013-08-10 Thread Max
I have built upstart_1.9.1-0ubuntu3 for Ubuntu 13.04 Raring.
I do not see the bug with ureadahead anymore.
However once I have seen busy / on shutdown
due to modem-manager and its file in /var/log/upstart
opened for writing.

There are a couple of minor issues with sources
in saucy and their backproting.

Automake 1.11 in Raring does not have the option serial-tests
(introduced in 1.12), so configure.ac must be edited.

Tests rely on exact test messages, so dpkg-buildpackage
must be run with LANG=C, otherwise one test fails.

Due to the issue with modem-manager I am in doubt
if upstart-1.9 should be included to updates of Raring.

[Bug 1080808] Re: nVidia/nouveau fails when logging in to Ubuntu/Kubuntu with kernel 3.7.0-2

2013-08-10 Thread Christopher M. Penalver
C de-Avillez, as per
http://www.dell.com/support/troubleshooting/us/en/19/Product/latitude-e6410
an update is available for your BIOS (A15). If you update to this, does
it change anything?

If not, could you please both specify what happened, and provide the output of
the following terminal command:
sudo dmidecode -s bios-version sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date

Thank you for your understanding.

** Tags added: bios-outdated-a15 needs-bisect needs-upstream-testing

** Description changed:

Upgraded to Raring; when booting using kernel 3.7.0-2-generic, a login
to Kubuntu/Ubuntu fails with the errors shown in the attachments.

This has been happening since Quantal, around Beta2 -- on Quantal, I
would have such a failure (or a GPU lock-up, like in bug 1048701) every
so often: on Ubuntu, after a few hours, on Kubuntu usually on
logout/login, or -- just once in ~ 2 weeks, during normal usage.

On Raring it seems guaranteed to fail *always* on login. Once failed,
laptop has to be power-cycled for the display to work again.

Booting back on the current Quantal kernel (3.5.0-19) allows me to work
  again.

Api, just to clarify, when you tested Saucy, did you test the kernel

so, which nvidia driver specifically did you test?

This worked fine with nvidia and nouveau drivers in 12.04 and 12.10.

cause overheat, and HD videos collapse.

Package gdebi-core is not available, but is referred to by another package.
This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or

[Bug 1092883] Re: Disk report of Unhandled error code

2013-08-10 Thread Christopher M. Penalver
** Description changed:

  Repeated message such as

  Dec 21 10:56:03 s01 kernel: [12597.472089] sd 8:0:0:0: [sde] Unhandled error
code
  Dec 21 10:56:03 s01 kernel: [12597.472093] sd 8:0:0:0: [sde] Result:
hostbyte=DID_BAD_TARGET driverbyte=DRIVER_OK
  Dec 21 10:56:03 s01 kernel: [12597.472098] sd 8:0:0:0: [sde] CDB: Read(10):
28 00 6e b6 92 00 00 02 00 00
  Dec 21 10:56:03 s01 kernel: [12597.472113] end_request: I/O error, dev sde,
sector 1857458688

Once this occurs it is reported a number of times per second apparently
on a continuous basis. The sector number does increase but I'm not sure
whether the disk driver is really trying to access the disk.

To show the above log entries in context here are a few lines before
  them and a few after.
