When installing nautilus-dropbox, everything works well except that
there is no notification icon in the notification area. This is fixed
very easily by manually installing the libappindicator1 package right
after installing nautilus-dropbox and logging out and back in.
No. Airplane mode also not working. By upgrading to 3.10, wifi will
become unusable. This patch only fixes rt2x00pci so that it works as it

the same fault has occurred for me after ripping some dvds.

pressing the manual eject button or typing eject work. It is at least a

I have a Dell Inspiron 15R (Ivy Bridge Core i5) and I have the same
problem. I'm currently running Ubuntu 13.10 (64 bit) and Windows 8.1.
Both will boot with Secure boot disabled. With Secure Boot enabled, I
can boot Ubuntu from the Grub2 menu, but not Windows (same type of error
as the first post
Fixed by deleting the directory '/run/user/1000/pulse'.
Then I had to kill vlc (VLC media player) process that was waiting endlessly
saing Failed to create secure directory (/run/user/1000/pulse).
But I think after reboot it will be the same again.

something that wasn't standard-compliant (array overreads), and the GCC
optimization aggressive-loop-optimizations relies on the assumption that
all code is standard-compliant. So this is not a GCC bug.

The workaround works on my machine. Low performance seems to mean the
vesa driver, which I have always used on this PC, and which is fine by
me. Xorg cpu and memory usage seem to be the same as in 12.04.

change layouts at all. Is this a gnome issue can anyone confirm?

Temporary workaround is to set:
HandleLidSwitch=ignore
in /etc/systemd/logind.conf
However I now disabled xfce4-power-manager and let logind do the sleep, because
it seems to go into suspend much faster ( 1 sec) than with xfce4-power-manager
(~4 secs) on my MacBook Air.

I'm able to lock xscreensaver by putting xscreensaver-command in
personal folder using link from /usr/bin/xscreensaver-command.
Create a shell script with xscreensaver-command --lock.
Hit alt+f2 and input sh .xscreen-lock.sh, you create your own bash file
and name it
