Okay but what do you need if I don't use that option I can not see
anything so what do I need to do to get the logs ? Or look into it
further ?

It happens not only to .flv files, but others like .mpg as well!
For me it only occured after upgrading from Mint 15 (both 32 and 64 bit
on three different machines) to V.16, again both 32 and 64 bit.

I have the same problem. Most of my JPG (and also PNG) images cannot be
viewed on 14.04 EoG - firefox views them fine. And it's not a problem
with the image, since all my existing images which I was browsing
through easily in the past are now not viewable. Will try downgrading.
