I fixed it by installing a KDE desktop, logging into that once, logging into
Gnome again, and rebooting.
Confirmed by rebooting 10 times, and extensions are now persistent.

I confirm this issue. In my case there is a huge regression in uplink
speed with kernel 3.11.0-15-generic compared to 3.11.0-12-generic (which
is good).
With 3.11.0-15-generic, I only get sustained 400–500KB/s uplink speed

This is really annoying. I've some encrypted partitions, and the
bookmarks proven to be very useful.
I'm currently using a ugly workaround: kill nautilus and restart it. In
a console, I run:
$ pkill nautilus ; sleep 1 ; nohup nautilus -n
Running that line is easier (at least for me) than
I don't have any indicator logs in ~/.cache/upstart and unity-panel-
service.log doesn't differ when indicators are missing.

I had set apport to ignore the file and I found the setting
in ~/.apport-ignore.xml. It would seem purging did not remove that file as
I expected.
Having removed an entry in there, I got the dialog to report the crash,

I'm using the psmouse driver on a Dell Inspiron 17R SE and it makes the
touchpad work as an actual touchpad and not just a mouse. However, I'm
experiencing a significant amount of backlash. By this, I mean that when
reversing the direction of movement the cursor will remain still for some time

I tested the kernel 3.13 and the problem still exists. The tags are
updated.
I would also tend to blame the access point though an Android phone and
a Windows laptop are sharing the access point and both remain connected
when the Ubuntu laptop fails.
