This is a very minor bug, but still slightly annoying.
When logging out and back in, in some places the default/system mouse
cursors are shown instead of the ones selected under settings -> mouse.

It's just really weird, that Beta 2 worked well. Beta 2 booted nicely

Sure thing, though that is almost exactly it. The bottom decal only has

That's not wrong if you have all of the three installed, but It's not a
problem in im-config. ibus is started by dbus autostart mechanism, and
fcitx is started by xdg autostart. You can remove fcitx to avoid it's
startup, but you don't have a chance to remove ibus if you run unity.

Ouch, it might be the same issue. I don't have gnome-shell installed,
and installing the metapackage didn't enable a session in lightdm. The
"Ubuntu" (Unity) shell prouces the same crash. But "sudo pitivi" works
fine.

My USB mouse and keyboard work fine with the 3.2 kernels, but after
installing the -lts-saucy kernel + xorg only one of mouse/keyboard work
at boot (despite working in grub) and after unplugging/replugging

This problem of disappearing files is still occurring. Sometimes they
reappear after some number of reboots and sometimes not.
I had been running the Ubuntu 14.04 final beta but last week upgraded
everything to the released packages.
Everything has seemed fine until today. For the past 3 days

Settings - Appearance - says Ubumtu (2560 x 1600)

Make sure scope-registry and smart-scopes-proxy are running:
$ initctl start smart-scopes-proxy
$ initctl start scope-registry
