Are you sure this bug is with light-locker?
By default, Unity/Ubuntu doesn't use light-locker but instead comes with a
built-in locker and the problem you're describing sounds similar to a known
issue with it.

1. Create one USB disk with the 14.04's oem image
2. Make a USB key startup disk.
3. Install the system with the usb key.
4. Don't plug out the USB disk after the recovery completed.

When installing Lubuntu 14.04 I chosein the partitioning screen the options
* Clear hard drive and install Lubuntu
* Uncrypt hard drive (and thus also LVM was auto-selected)

ImportError: cannot import name 'ki18n' when launching
Light-locker doesn't interact with the numpad at all (and in my opinion
it shouldn't).
This is most likely a problem of VT Switching and X11 taking control over the
Keyboard in the greeter. The basic problem being: how should the greeter know
whether numlock was on/off during the session?
