I'm agree it for U.14.04, but it's presented and others derivative distribution
(like Mint 17), without any depends with DE! So, I'm attempting to install it
to my ASUS 1225C Samsung 100N netbooks. I have opinion that it's kernel +
hardware incompatible...
Note. I haven't any logs and others
I make hibernate work by creating the file as described. And I can
activate hibernate through the energy settings.
But I cannot activate hibernate through the shutdown menu. This leads to
the described error message.

For tests like LXC we want to run them against the -proposed kernel, so
that we can hold back kernel updates which break LXC in -proposed. But
for that we need to run the test against the -proposed kernel.
Right now we only dist-upgrade which still runs the kernel in
Removing the verification-failed/needed since the fix for this bug
mistakingly missed getting in the SRU. The next SRU will contain this
fix. Sorry about the confusion.

I had the same problem for a while, turns out the file /etc/pam.d/vsftpd that
comes with ubuntu is buggy...
Comments the following line in /etc/pam.d/vsftpd :
auth requiredpam_shells.so
And
I am using Dell XPS 12 system and #93 worked for me before the recent kernel
update (3.13.0-27) and now touchscreen works fine but touchpad not recognized
as touchpad multitouch (scrolling) anymore.
How can I get rid of the changes the workaround made? blacklisting hid-rmi?
