So far, I have not noticed any glitch on my system (trusty tahr, amd64), both installations - 1. tkhunter plus 2. tripwire - ended with a setup screen, where nothing could be setup by me, so I thought these windows were frozen and closed each time the whole terminal. [Bug 1327531] [NEW] run-one-constantly waiting for previous instances to end
Public bug reported: I'm trying to use run-one-constantly within a crontab to ensure a daemon script is always running. However, it seems that run-one- constantly doesn't stop quietly like run-one when it's already running, it just keeps runing without doing anything until the previous command finishes. If this is triggered by a frequent cron, you'd end up with a lot of processes doing nothing. See the attached screenshot, all of the commands at the bottom are 'running' - but only one is being processed. You can see all of them in the ps aux at the top. [Bug 1194074] Re: Default index.html blindly overwritten
Irrespective of what the default document root is, whether it is /usr/share/nginx/www or /var/www/html, the issue in this bug report is whether a user should expect to be able to modify the index.html file in the default document root and have those changes respected. If your answer is that the default document root isn't a place that a user can put files, because certain files will be destroyed by package updates, than I put to you this question: what is the point of having a default document root in the first place? I submit that everything installed under the default document root should be marked as a configuration file in the package, so that user modifications will be respected. I can't think of any good reason not to do things that way, regardless of what you think the document root should be. Will Ubuntu fix the package, or does it need to be done by the Debian maintainer? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to nginx in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1194074 Title: Default index.html blindly overwritten To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nginx/+bug/1194074/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
[Bug 1290920] Re: fails to start container with local provider with non-default LXC path
It seems to me that the bug isn't in the different container directory, but the way that the log directory is mounted. I have just hit this same problem locally, and I don't have a non- default directory. What I do have though is two different users locally. When the juju conatiner template is created, the log mount points are added. What this means is that other users on the same machine will not be able to mount the log directory as specified in the container lxc config file, and the cgroup setting will fail. One solution to this is to have a template container per user rather than a shared one. ** Tags added: local lxc regression ** Also affects: juju-core Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: juju-core Status: New = Triaged ** Changed in: juju-core Importance: Undecided = High -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to juju in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1290920 Title: fails to start container with local provider with non-default LXC path To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/juju-core/+bug/1290920/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 1272624] Re: [Dell Latitude E7440] 14.04 Touchpad causing mouse pointer to spuriously jump around screen
I'm on an E7240 running 12.04 LTS (anxiously awaiting my employeer to certify 14.04 with all our internal tools and what-not) and I have this problem. I'm pretty sure it happens because my middle and ring fingers accidentally touch the top edge of the pad while my pointer finger is moving the cursor. I can reproduce this on purpose by running xinput --test [device number] and watching the events while I do the following: - Touch the pad near the middle or bottom. The cursor moves slightly as my finger wiggles around. - Without removing the first finger, touch the pad again with a second finger above the first finger. The cursor shoots up to a[1]=0 (which is the y position). - Without removing the first finger, remove the second (top) finger. The cursor shoots back down to a[1]=some large number Sometimes it takes it all the way to the bottom of the screen, sometimes it goes back to where it was, or somewhere else. I haven't been able to figure out how it decides what to go back to. With this, while I touching with my pointer finger and my middle or ring finger accidentally touch the pad at the top, the cursor shoots where I don't want it. Then when my middle/ring finger leaves the pad (usually because I started cursing (get it?) at my cursor), it shoots back down again somewhere completely arbitrary. Similarly: - Touch the bad near the top. - Without removing the top finger, touch somewhere near the bottom. The cursor doesn't (yet) move. - Lift the top finger. The cursor shoots to the bottom. - Put down the top finger again, without lifting the bottom. The cursor shoots back up again. You can make the cursor shoot up and down just by keeping your bottom finger down and tapping the top finger. The cursor follows the top finger no matter what you do. Interestingly, this does NOT happen from side-to-side. Two touches side-by-side trigger the multi-touch gestures and don't move the cursor. If we could just get it so that going from single touch to multi-touch top-to-bottom doesn't actually move the cursor, that would be grand. Thank you very much for all your help. :-) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1272624 Title: [Dell Latitude E7440] 14.04 Touchpad causing mouse pointer to spuriously jump around screen To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1272624/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1327110] Re: [Dell Latitude D420] Black screen after resuming from suspend
OK, so I think I haven't been totally clear in the description of this bug. Here is some clarification. - If I do Suspend from the menu and power back on, it works - If I lock the screen from the menu and unlocks it, it works - If I close the lid of the laptop, the computer resumes and the username and password dialog appears. But after I have typed in my password, the screen goes black but the computer keeps working. If I restart lightdm, it works To me this doesn't look like a suspend/resume bug at all. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1327110 Title: [Dell Latitude D420] Black screen after resuming from suspend To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1327110/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1184663] Re: Incorrect margins when printing to a laser printer using CUPS 1.6.x
I have been affected by this for years while printing from Linux (Ubuntu 12.04) via a FreeBSD (9.2 for what matters) CUPS server (versions 1.5.x to 1.7.x at least). I have two printers: HP Laserjet 1320 and HP Deskjet 5550 which are installed via CUPS on the FreeBSD server and shared with the Linux CUPSes (1.5.3 from precise). Printing via the Foomatic/HPIJS drivers HP-LaserJet_1320-hpijs.ppd and HP-DeskJet_5550-hpijs.ppd always gave me unacceptably wrong printout margins (shifted more than 1 cm right and up). The generic PCL driver provided by CUPS never had this problem, but of course would not take advantage of any advanced printer features. Running the command hinted by Till in post #6 lpadmin -p printer_queue -o pdftops-renderer-default=pdftops on the FreeBSD server (NOT on the Ubuntu Linux clients!) for every printer installed there solved the problem completely. Many thanks for that. The server now runs CUPS-1.7.2 and shares its printers with the Linux CUPS-1.5.3 via cups-browsed in total harmony and I always get correct margins. Let me emphasise once more that in my case this bug was NOT caused on the side of Ubuntu 12.04 (CUPS 1.5.3 ) but on the side of the FreeBSD server (CUPS 1.7.2). However this seems to suggests that the root of the issue goes upstream ... -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1184663 Title: Incorrect margins when printing to a laser printer using CUPS 1.6.x To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cups/+bug/1184663/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Dual monitor (1920x1080 2560x1440), nVidia 660TI: everything smooth and responsive. I was running everything (a full-HD and quad-HD) using the Intel HD 4400. I was running my quad-HD monitor in a lower resolution (1920x1080) because performance was not good using the maximum 2560x1440. Last night, I decided to try my nVidia GeForce 660TI again. I placed it onto the board and installed the proprietary 337.25 beta driver (downloaded from the nVidia website). All animations and window movements (with wobbly windows installed) are perfectly smooth and responsive. The only time animations become jerky is if a video is playing in the default video player (Totem?). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1123108 Title: unity slow on dual monitors (extended desktop) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity/+bug/1123108/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

And trusty does have 2.24 just like you've said. And all this is proved by perfectly working HHVM after symlink creation. No, nothing is broken. This is the versioning used by upstream. 2.24.5x and 2.24.9x lead to 2.25. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1320423 Title: Add symlink libbfd-2.24-system.so To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/binutils/+bug/1320423/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1320423] Re: Add symlink libbfd-2.24-system.so
Usually (according to semantic versioning) patch is not used for such non-obvious things. Even in such way it would be much more logical to have versioning like GNOME, they use minor odd versions for development. I just want to explain that such magical versioning is pretty confusing. Moreover, even minor version supposed to be backward compatible, so, symlink should work great until major version is increased.
