I get the exact same issue using my Lenovo LT1421 Displaylink screen.
This has happened for ages and is not new to 14.x or a recent kernel,
randr, xorg whatever. Tried it all.
Once i get the monitor up and working with the correct modelines the
mouse pointer on my main screen routinely flickers.
Same bug here. I've installed and configured Blueproximity (I've used it
for months with 10.04 but never with 12.04) but gnome-screensaver-
command -d seems not work. Same issue with xscreensaver (xscreensaver-
command -d).
