standard interface (and likely as not no interface at all) for telling
an input driver to stop sending events other than closing the input
device, and powerd can't close the device on behalf of another process.

This seems to be an ubuntu-keyboard regression after all. To demonstrate

- installed image #203, and verified that focusing the address bar after boot
worked

Well, this was opened as a trusty issue, and in my memory it was only on
trusty, but here is an attempt that fails on trusty or utopic host. I
know that when we did this, there was no systemd-sysv package, so my
attempt was more to invoke /lib/systemd/systemd as the init comand.

Hello,
Our Linux agent team found a bug while testing a VM extension and has
tagged a new release, v2.0.8. Please package this version instead.
The relevant change in v2.0.8 is the following and should be applied to all:
I did a bit of sleuth work and traced the issue as far back as the version
shipped with quantal (2.34.8-0ubuntu4).
This should probably qualify as a regression, and the range is somewhat narrow
(the last unaffected version is 2.34.1-1ubuntu11, which is shipped in precise).

This affects me too. I have a newer Toshiba laptop that came with
Windows 8.1, and it boots UEFI. I created space using windows tools,
created a Linux swap and root partition, and installed Xubuntu 14.04.1
from DVD.
Everything went as expected except the grub-install, it seems.

@edd-rossi: AFAIK, this is due to adapter trying to keep the connection
alive. Or, to put it this way, when it comes to power management this
driver is a piece of shit. But, at least we have something...
