That's what happens. No boot, no nothing. Ever. Black screen. No way to get to
a grub menu or command line.
The only way I can get my computer to boot is with a usb key, after going into

client of media hub (so lots of create/destroy) which in turn leaves dead objs
on dbus which results in the mutex lock signature seen in comment #4.

when i try
rm /etc/modprobe.d/psmouse.conf
have you done it as root ?
try this!

Since the update to 14.10 I cannot get ot the Sound Settings anymore.
This happens always, a reboot does not help.

@nik90 I believe this is about a repeating alarm, it rings when you
disable it in the clock app (can't say I've seen it ringing after it was
*deleted* though).
