[Bug 1357321] Re: [TOPBLOCKER] QNetworkAccessManager doesn't support roaming on Ubuntu
@kgunn72 I think we certainly have moved on to a different bug. Originally, QNAM was not considering mobile data connection at all, because the QtBearer was only using generic plug (which does not know the difference between mobile data and other network interfaces and is not really usable anyway). The NetworkManager backend was also not working as it should. @mathieu-tl I just noticed in comment #10, you mention roaming (as does the bug subject). Roaming in QConfiguration means 'connection migration' where connections are migrated seamlessly to and from wlan/mobile (kind of like what mobile does moving from tower to tower), i.e. a streaming media would continue uninterrupted moving from wlan to mobile data. I believe it has been supported only on Symbian which did the connection migrations at the platform level . QNAM should now at least switch the configuration it uses when the default route changes to one that is usable, which is about the closest we can get to connection 'roaming' at this point. Previously a client would have to tear down and create a new QNAM. Now, a QNAM get request should succeed regardless when the QNAM was made. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1357321 Title: [TOPBLOCKER] QNetworkAccessManager doesn't support roaming on Ubuntu To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/platform-api/+bug/1357321/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1377878] Re: PPC - GUI freezes except for mouse pointer
Actually, Boris was right. Lars I recommend you read the PPC FAQ. The graphics section makes it quite clear that there's no mechanism in place to determine the appropriate graphics settings for your particular hardware: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/PowerPCFAQ#Configure_graphics Furthermore, if such a mechanism could exist, PPC is ultimately unsupported. We, as the Lubuntu community, are supporting it, but we don't have the resources to dedicate to innovating for PPC. Lastly, keep in mind that what works for Radeon might create problems for Nvidia. That being said, really, if we have a workaround, it's fixed. ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1377878 Title: PPC - GUI freezes except for mouse pointer To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1377878/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1389077] Re: [HP ProBook 4530s] Intel Powerclamp is Slowing CPU
Hi William, How is your GPU temperature when this happens? Btw, as a more permanent temporary fix than rmmod you can blacklist it by creating the file /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist-intel_powerclamp.conf and adding the line "blacklist intel_powerclamp" to it. As for my problem, I think it's a bit counter-intuitive that powerclamp starts to inject idle time when it's the *GPU* that is hot and using 50% of the CPU for this idle stuff almost right away is certainly excessive. It also takes a really long time after the temp has gone down for powerclamp to stop and during this time the system is very sluggish. I have to say, it seems this is not working as it should. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1389077 Title: [HP ProBook 4530s] Intel Powerclamp is Slowing CPU To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1389077/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1297849] Re: Virtual private network connection fails after distribution upgrade due to outdated Network Manager configuration files
Yes, that's what I meant when I said the VPN link in the applet submenu does not seem to react to my clicks. I click and nothing happens at all. But command line works fine so it seems like it must be an applet problem. If I had more knowledge I would look at the code that handles the menu interface but I don't know what to look for :) I am happy to continue troubleshooting if you have the time. I agree I do not want to monopolize this ticket since it seems as though my issue is not quite the same as everyone else's. I will send an email to the address on your account. [Bug 1297849] Re: Virtual private network connection fails after distribution upgrade due to outdated Network Manager configuration files
Thanks Pavel. I restarted rsyslog. /var/log/debug is still empty but there were some additions to syslog so I have extracted those into a text file - attached. Sorry, I know you specified to only try it once but I clicked a few times due to the lack of response from the applet submenu (I was not sure whether it was picking up on my clicks or not). So the log is a bit long. You can probably skip to the last time segment and ignore the earlier attempts, I guess they are all repeats of the same thing. I was not sure what to leave out so I left it all in :) If you need more info let me know. ** Attachment added: "networkmanager-syslog-2014-11-10.txt" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/network-manager-vpnc/+bug/1297849/+attachment/4257868/+files/networkmanager-syslog-2014-11-10.txt -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1297849 Title: Virtual private network connection fails after distribution upgrade due to outdated Network Manager configuration files To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/hundredpapercuts/+bug/1297849/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1391380] [NEW] Chrome/Chromium Error Causing Log-in Session to Crash
Public bug reported: I have Ubuntu 12.04 installed with proprietary Catalyst drivers with Xinerama enabled because I have three monitors. The first time I open Chromium or Chrome there is no issue. [Bug 1389858] Re: Libreoffice calc 4.2.7-0ubuntu1 not updating references after sort
@Björn Michaelsen > The 4.2.7-0ubuntu1 package should now satisfy the fdo#81633 Please try the attached test file along with the attached test cases in 81633 such as test_offset.ods and Calc bug.ods. None of these work with Ubuntu's Calc 4.2.7.2, but worked just fine under 4.2.6. > Apparently these two reddit users are not aware that they have exactly opposing opinions on the expected behaviour. As Manuel pointed out, what people want is the old sorting behavior back. They're probably using the wrong terminology because this change is confusing and requires toggling a secret option (update refs) that is not well documented. While 4.2.6 may not have been perfect, as least it mostly followed the industry conventions of updating relative references, while never updating Absolute references. It did this automatically, without the need to toggle any settings that require a restart. Take a look at the use cases in FDO# 85490 to see how many spreadsheets sorted fine in 4.2.6 and Excel but with 4.2.7 there is no clear UpdateRefs setting that always works. To be clear, with 4.2.7 there is no way to return to the old style sorting routine. Some spreadsheets that worked fine in Excel and 4.26 require UpdateRefs=True, while others require it to be false. Others are broken with either UpdateRefs setting because of bugs introduced in this new sorting routine. Is it any wonder users are confused? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1389858 Title: Libreoffice calc 4.2.7-0ubuntu1 not updating references after sort To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libreoffice/+bug/1389858/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1391379] [NEW] can't pull up SIM 2 widgets to click "ok" or see what I'm typing
Public bug reported: In krillin rtm image 151, I noticed some strange UI behavior while trying to edit the name of the SIM cards. When I tap on the text entry field to edit the name, the OSK appears but does not scroll the page to make the text entry visible above the OSK. So, I tried to scroll it manually and the widgets end up detaching so that they overlap other widgets. If I then let go, the overlapping widgets snap back into their original positions obscured by the keyboard. Screenshots of this are attached. Aside from the obviously wrong appearance here, it's a functional issue because it can be very difficult to successfully change the SIM name (can't tap "OK" unless it was already scrolled to a position above the keyboard). ** Affects: ubuntu-system-settings (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: rtm14 ue ** Attachment added: "pull-up-sim2-name.png" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1391379/+attachment/4257861/+files/pull-up-sim2-name.png -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1391379 Title: can't pull up SIM 2 widgets to click "ok" or see what I'm typing To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubuntu-system-settings/+bug/1391379/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1363785] Re: package icedtea-netx:amd64 1.5.1-1ubuntu1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 2
No. This error appears simply by trying to install the icedtea-plugin. That's all you need to do to get the error. 1. Install Ubuntu 2. Update the repositories and try to install the icedtea-plugin. 3. Welcome hell to your PC. [Bug 1297849] Re: Virtual private network connection fails after distribution upgrade due to outdated Network Manager configuration files
Thanks Pavel! Not sure if I did this correctly. I could not find lines in my 50-default.conf that were exactly the same as what you posted above, so I just copied and pasted your example above into my conf file instead. Hope that was ok. When I restarted network-manager the applet went away and came back correctly. When I tried to connect to the VPN nothing happened. The debug log is completely empty. I tried restarting and connecting a second time, again nothing and the log remains empty (literally 0 bytes). Did I look in the right place? Is /var/log/debug the correct place to look for the file? The feeling I get when I click on the VPN link in my applet submenu is that the click is not registering on the system. Something like an empty a href link tag in an html page. The link simply doesn't respond when it is clicked on. As I mentioned previously, VPN connects fine when I do it from the terminal, so I wonder if there is something wrong or missing in the applet's VPN submenu. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1297849 Title: Virtual private network connection fails after distribution upgrade due to outdated Network Manager configuration files To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/hundredpapercuts/+bug/1297849/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1391349] Re: apport-retrace is failing for Ubuntu RTM 14.09
Looking more closely, install_packages calls self.set_mirror with the apt sources from the configuation, however get_file_package is called outside of the packaging backend (by sandboxutils.py) so the mirror information is lost. I mounted the ESP with `mountvol b: /s` in Windows, renamed the existing bootx64.efi and ran bcdboot, which created a new ~1.5 MB bootx64.efi- file. Unfortunately, this being another machine (another disk/partition layout or another license/edition) the hashes don't match. Also my experience from previously mentioned case is that manufacturers put a customized Windows loader in that location which tries to blend POST and Windows boot phase together by displaying the same company logo the whole time (probably to give the impression of a faster startup). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1366546 Title: Ubuntu doesn't provide \EFI\BOOT\BOOTX64.EFI for UEFI systems To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/grub2/+bug/1366546/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1297849] Re: Virtual private network connection fails after distribution upgrade due to outdated Network Manager configuration files
tallien, Yes, you are right that the bug you experience is a different one. Anyway it would help if you can enable the debug for the NetworkManager itself and attach the resulting log? To do so, please do the following: 1. Enable the `debug` syslog output. Find and edit the `/etc/rsyslog.d/50-default.conf` file uncommenting the lines: *.=debug;*.=info;*.=notice;*.=warn;\ auth,authpriv.none;\ news.none;mail.none -/var/log/debug 2. Enable the NetworkManager debug: add the following lines to the `/etc/NetworkManager/NetworkManager.conf` file: [logging] level=DEBUG 3. Restart (or reload) the NetworkManager: $ sudo restart network-manager 4. Make a single attempt to connect to the VPN and then attach the resulting log here, removing all the viable information.
