On a Macbook Air 2013 (6,2), I used to run Mint 16 XFCE (natively, not via
virtualization), and had my external Samsung display happily running at its max
resolution of 2560x1440 via a HDMI adapter.
I confirmed the same resolution can be obtained when booting Xubuntu 13.10
Before curl can be built with metalink support someone needs to package
libmetalink for Ubuntu, preferable by way of Debian.

I configured a new machine with Ubuntu 14.04 months ago. I have been gifted
with LibreOffice 4.2.7.2. I was using Ubuntu 12.04 before that, and had
LibreOffice 4.1.something. Before that I was using OpenOffice, before that
Excell, before that Easy-as-123. All of them update references

I could solve it by playing around with some settings but because I can
not reproduce the problem, I'm not able to narrow it down.

As i mentioned in #6 post if you need to upgrade you kdenlive to 0.9.10
version, for that you should use the above ppa ppa:sunab/kdenlive-
release
And you need to remove kdenlive, because upgrading with that ppa does
not work (at least for me)

Change of output orientation with

I first tried to capture the output of the nm-applet as described, but then it
didn't showed me my VPN configuration.
So I added the debug config to the network manager and rsyslog.
This is the result when I tried to connect to 'vpn.myhost.com', hope
