btw sometimes it does not crash. i do not know the difference between
when it crashes and when it does not. i can only say when it fails,
calling it repeatedly in sequence seems to keep yielding the same
failure, but at another time, it may work.

The patch mentioned in comment #5 was added to the mainline kernel as of
3.13-rc1, so it should already be in Trusty.

After my last comment here over two years ago I haven't had the time and
resources to debug this any more than I already had at that point. We
have since switched to using unencrypted Libvirt connections
(qemu+tcp:///) which is good enough since all virtualisation hosts are
on a separate and

Okay. FYI I went ahead and defined my own bridge to let containers
communicate directly with my router's dhcp server, but I've created and
started a new privileged container `pr1` and made sure it uses `lxcbr0`
and not my `br0`. Still, it's possible I'll have to tell `lxcbr0` to
plug into `br0`
