Paul (#69), for me the message occurrs in a freshly installed 14.10 system
(which boots fine after the message).
I think there may be multiple conditions for the error message (broken pipe),
some possibly related to the nvidia driver (according to the position in the
message log, see #37),

Unfortunately setting blacklist to ['-'] in
com.canonical.Unity.Devices does not work for USB drives, pendrives,
partitions, etc. They are not removed from launchbar. I used dconf
editor to watch the blacklist: it forgets gathered uuids right after
disconnecting external device, so they appear
Cool, hope it in updates channel quickly. :)
