Yep, after running the command I still have the same error (probably due
to the errors showing up in the Terminal). Also I can't switch to a
logon teminal when I get to the black screen and have to use the power
button on the computer to shut down from it.

There is still the goal to remove Python2 from the desktop images, and
to use Python3 only. compiz-gnome depends on python, afaics the only
reason are the session-migration scripts. The scripts look ready to run
with Python3. Please change the shebang line and use python3.

Good news!! I just updated my ubuntu 14.04 system to the latest update
(as of 4/3/2015) and I was able to download a 4GB video file directly
from my Canon sx280hs camera. I hadn't been able to do that until I
installed the latest update. I also updated my ubuntu 12.04 system on

As per http://us.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/drivers an update to your
computer's buggy and outdated BIOS is available (2.12). If you update to
this following https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BIOSUpdate does it
change anything?
As a workaround, I had to unset GPG_AGENT_INFO in my .bashrc and in my
Thunderbird starter button.

The first patch above does nothing to the bring the connection back up

condition of some sort between the supplicant and NM but I'm not able to
track it down appropriately.

which want to create or replace files in the same directory.
Also, as mentioned above,
