I tried rebooting by completely shutting down the power before
submitting the bug and it still persisted, however, a day later I just
plugged out the wireless receiver of the keyboard mouse and plugged it
into another USB port and now it works fine.

I cured my issue by installing kernel 3.12.36 and the drivers mentioned
in my solution. I was using 3.13.x. I now use 3.14.38 with no issues.
Even though it may not be the same for others, the kernel was definitely
an issue on my system.
What makes this so frustrating is that very few people
@Jane I have changed the OS Selection in BIOS and now all my kernels are
booting fine. It was set to Windows 8. I never knew that was why my
kernels weren't booting up. I have checked the issue with 4.0 rc 7
