well that was fun.
with the 4.1 kernel and the proprietary drivers i was trapped in cli. much fun
there.
i disabled the proprietary drivers, including the amd microcode that i
forgot i enabled. after which is still had no luck with the 4.1 kernel.
i did however boot just fine with the 3.13

It is getting frustrated. I am wondering if it is related to this
specific computer. Recently, I reinstalled Ubuntu and eliminated dual
boot. I thought it fixed it and for a while it was working OK, I mean
the missing characters after going to sleep. But now it is getting
worse. It looks like the
