Similar thing here with Ubuntu 15.05 r2 and I don't have uTorch
installed.
(this doesn't always happen) but:
Open camera app
Camera will focus
App freezes for a few seconds
Returns to normal
Flash doesn't work with either on/auto

It seems like given that this is reportedly fixed in 14.10; there's got
to be a commit which fixes this upstream. I'd rather use that (since
it's been reviewed, tested, and approved by upstream) than include other
code, even if it does look fine.

In line 420 /usr/bin/xdg-screensaver checks for the value of
KDE_SESSION_VERSION.
If it is 4, it uses the dbus methods, otherwise, thinking it is kde 3, it uses
dcop.
Unfortunately now KDE_SESSION_VERSION is 5 and xdg-screensaver falls back to
dcop (which doesn't exists
