[Bug 1464442] Re: installing or upgrading libc6 in Trusty removes all content from /tmp directory

2015-06-25 Thread Stefan Bader
Oh right and the trace command that Steve used will show a call to init
early on which passes in a state fd which then, a bit later, seems to be
used as command stream to a shell. A construct like that was the parent
of mounted-tmp runs I observed. So I assume this is the method to
execute upstart scripts... but anyway.

And oh #2 @Steve: to make things even more fun it seems that the does
not reproduce is not depending on the use of --write-state-file but on
the fact that you have to interrupt the boot and then directly boot into
the live mode instead of making that selection graphically...Even more
fun it seems... Oddly it seems that in those cases the execve for init
seems to use a different fd number than later calls of sh use for input.
But again might be just fluke...

However it seems that the driver was installed well!
I am attaching all the logs.
What command can I run to check that NVIDIA is properly installed and working?

Is anyone working on OpenGL ES support in Mixxx at present? I *could*

Further, is this a duplicate of

[Bug 1468029] Re: unity8 crash breaking autopilot tests entering text with OSK

2015-06-25 Thread Olivier Tilloy
I am seeing the same issue intermittently when running the webbrowser_app test
suite on devices (both in CI runs on mako and locally on my krillin). See e.g.
https://jenkins.qa.ubuntu.com/job/generic-deb-autopilot-runner-vivid-mako/2759/.
At some point during the test run, something happens and inputting text with
the OSK doesn’t work any longer, thus causing all subsequent tests to fail.

Hi,

An update on this:

We are looking at solving this issue in either of the following two
ways:

1. Have a config option where user specifies the controllers to mount.
2. Have the patch that mounts cgroups for containers in systemd-shim,
rather than systemd.

2015-06-25 Thread bugproxy
--- Comment From frede...@fr.ibm.com 2015-06-19 14:42 EDT---
Here is a packaging for opal-prd based on what Jeremy Kerr did with some
improvements.
As I understand, we need opal-prd kernel headers which is tracked in
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1439562 .
For the time being, Jeremy provided me a -linux-libc-dev .deb for 14.10 so I
tested everything on 14.10 so far.
Here are the files attached. debian/changelog should be changed otherwise there
should be no lintian, just a pedantic one for
debian-watch-may-check-gpg-signature .

[Bug 1468652] [NEW] Add new userspace package 'opal-prd'

2015-06-25 Thread bugproxy
Public bug reported:

This is a bug to track the inclusion of opal-prd[1] package in Ubuntu.
The plan is to add it initially for 15.10 and later backport it to 14.04
archive.

opal-prd is a daemon that listens for hardware diagnostic events (by
listening on the /dev/opal-prd device), and executes firmware-
providedexecutable code to handle these events.

For now, the code lives inside https://github.com/open-
power/skiboot/tree/master/external/opal-prd.

[Bug 1426216] Comment bridged from LTC Bugzilla

2015-06-25 Thread bugproxy
--- Comment From milt...@us.ibm.com 2015-06-16 21:21 EDT---
The PHB3 PCIe host bridge in Power8 does not support generating IO space
transactions / cycles, so no IO window is assigned to the PCI bus and all IO
space resources will be unassigned and must remain disabled in the pci command
register. (Previous bridges in most PowerPC systems provided a memory mapped
window that generates IO cycles but that function was not implemented in
Power8.)

[Bug 1328183] Re: User-Agent string results in poor UX on web

2015-06-25 Thread Olivier Tilloy
Thanks for the reminder mpt.

For the record, our initial approach a couple of years ago was to
strictly follow Mozilla’s recommendations. However, we faced two severe
issues that made us change our approach:

 - A vast majority of popular websites were serving incorrect content.
Sometimes, it was even worse than just getting a desktop version, the
mobi token would get us WAP-oriented content, or plainly broken
content.

 - Evangelizing takes time and energy, and we realistically don’t have
the resources to do that properly. Even just promoting and coordinating
a 100% community effort would require more resources than we have at our
disposal.

[Bug 1468664] [NEW] Libreoffice crashing the whole session in 15.04

2015-06-25 Thread Patrik Bubák
Public bug reported:

I've looked around but couldn't find any bug post related to this issue,
so I'm posting a new.

Libreoffice is known to crash the entire session on certain AMD
configurations, mine happens to be one of them.

AMD A6-6310 APU w/ AMD Radeon R4 and R5 M230 graphics.

Libreoffice worked perfect on 14.04.2 last time I checked, on 15.04 it's
unusable due to the crash.

Whenever it happens I get a drm;radeon_acpi error stating could not
find backlight controller and the whole session crashes.
