that does not already have an OS on it and choosing the option to use
the entire disk causes it to be formatted using GPT and the install

I just solved this issue by installing Ubuntu like normal, ignoring the
warning that the installation progress failed and then used the boot-
repair tool of Ubuntu, so I'm not able to run this with the failed
presets any more.

Thanks. Could you also update that section? It says that it applies in
two situations, but it never actually lists those two situations. I
*think* (but without already knowing of course I can't be sure) that

The crash is due to AppArmor. Adding the following to the profile for
/usr/lib/chromium-browser/chromium-browser gets things working again:
capability sys_admin,
capability sys_chroot,
owner @{PROC}/[0-9]*/setgroups w,
owner @{PROC}/[0-9]*/gid_map w,
owner
In my testing, the flash will usually work until/unless I open the
camera app, and then it stops working for the rest of the boot. uTorch
works fine each boot until after the camera app has been used.
