[Bug 1463046] Re: installation of multipath-tools-boot can break boot
In light of this, I'm guessing we'll need to special-case these devices to use page 0x80 to decide whether to consider them as multipath devices, at least on 14.04. For 15.10; I'd like to run a bit more testing, I believe multipath-tools 0.5.0 / sg3-utils will make changes unnecessary and properly *not* consider these devices as multipathed. ** Changed in: multipath-tools (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed = Triaged -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to multipath-tools in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1463046 Title: installation of multipath-tools-boot can break boot To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/multipath-tools/+bug/1463046/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

Hey guys, thanks for the logs. This is a tough bug to figure out, sadly your logs haven't given me a clue what might be wrong. [Bug 1471890] Re: cacheSizeHint computation for webapps is incorrect due to apparmor denials
I agree with Seth's suggestion, but for other reasons. We can't allow access to /proc/[0-9]*/mounts because it may contain sensitive information. Reading the directory contents of /dev/disk/by-label/ is likely ok (though there is also 'by-uuid' and 'by-id'). Can the calculation skip using /proc/[0-9]*/mounts and just use /dev/disk/by- label/? Ideally, the policy should not have to change at all and the app would talk to an out of process storage api (that is reasonable! :) to get this information. ** Changed in: apparmor-easyprof-ubuntu (Ubuntu) Status: New = Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1471890 Title: cacheSizeHint computation for webapps is incorrect due to apparmor denials To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/apparmor-easyprof-ubuntu/+bug/1471890/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode. To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1471837/+editstatus and add the package name in the text box next to the word Package. [Bug 1422469]
(In reply to Hermann from comment #65) Yes, it's fully up to date. Ok. What I tried now is totally removed ~/.kde4/share/apps/kfileplaces/ and removed also ~/.local/share/user-places* files. BUT after logout and back in there was now functional plasma-desktop there!?! No kicker, no taskbar/systemtray icons, no plasma widgets, no desktop background picture... Also 'killall plasma-desktop plasma-desktop ' didn't bring back a working desktop in this stage :( Strange, that should have absolutely no impact on plasma-desktop. I added then a new user in a console and logged me in with this new user and voila, there I have a perfectly working kde/dolphin (incl. places entries working here). So I copied the working ~/.local/share/user-places.xbel file from this new user to my old user (chowned to old user, home folder name to old user) and logged in again with the old user. Now I had a working desktop again! The situation now is... I CAN add a new place in dolphin (this new entry still gets deleted automatically after 1 sec) BUT after this addition of a new places entry plasma-desktop crashes again :(! That it works with a new user account shows that the bug is fixed. But again, check that the file is writeable for your user. Depending on how you copied it, that might not be the case. Really strange :( Yes, and especially your Plasma crashes are totally unrelated to this fixed bug report. And I still don't see any relation to Plasma, Plasma should not care at all whether user-places.xbel exists. Probably you added some Plasmoid that makes use of it? In this case that might also be the reason why places get removed again automatically. Try to delete (or at least temporary rename) Plasma's config as well: ~/.kde4/share/config/plasma* And if Plasma crashes, you should file a bug report against Plasma. But it would be good to find out first which Plasmoid causes this. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1422469 Title: Dolphin won't keep the folder shortcuts on Kubuntu 15.04 with Plasma 5. [Bug 1422469]
(In reply to Hermann from comment #68) Wolfgang, thank you for your patience I found it! Great! The plasma-widget Homerun-Kicker (https://blogs.kde.org/2014/01/29/homerun-120) causing this plasma-desktop crash And I suppose it also overwrote your changes to the places. From a quick look at the source code it seems that this still uses both files, and probably tries to synchronize them as well. That's what mainly caused problems in the past, and got removed in kdelibs and dolphin to fix this (and other) bugs. They only use user-places.xbel now. Maybe there would be an option to turn the places off in Homerun? This might be a workaround. This doesn’t work in the general case, when the app is confined by apparmor, because the computation relies on QStorageInfo::bytesAvailable() (http://doc.qt.io/qt-5/qstorageinfo.html#bytesAvailable), which triggers apparmor denials: Jul 6 18:34:07 ubuntu-phablet kernel: [17458.604265]type=1400 audit(1436200447.375:184): apparmor=DENIED operation=open profile=com.ubuntu.developer.webapps.webapp-amazon-int_webapp-amazon_1.0.10 name=/proc/7424/mounts pid=7424 comm=webapp-containe requested_mask=r denied_mask=r fsuid=32011 ouid=32011 Jul 6 18:34:07 ubuntu-phablet kernel: [17458.604407]type=1400 audit(1436200447.375:185): apparmor=DENIED operation=open profile=com.ubuntu.developer.webapps.webapp-amazon-int_webapp-amazon_1.0.10 name=/dev/disk/by-label/ pid=7424 comm=webapp-containe requested_mask=r denied_mask=r fsuid=32011 ouid=0 This essentially means that the computation of the cache size hint is broken. It has also been reported that this breaks other apps’ functionality: https://lists.launchpad.net/ubuntu-phone/msg13622.html. ** Affects: apparmor-easyprof-ubuntu (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: webbrowser-app (Ubuntu) Importance: High Assignee: Olivier Tilloy (osomon) Status: Confirmed ** Also affects: apparmor-easyprof-ubuntu (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1471890 Title: cacheSizeHint computation for webapps is incorrect due to apparmor denials To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/apparmor-easyprof-ubuntu/+bug/1471890/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1471914] [NEW] Scope search queries don't persist departments beyond the first search
Public bug reported: I have a scope with departments A and B. A is the root department (id: ), and B has id: b. Scenario: 1) Initially surface scope, A is the current department. 2) Switch to the B department. 3) Run search query, typing very slowing so as to cause multiple searches to be run while the query is being typed. Expected results: Search results from each search during the typing of the search query should be limited to department B. Actual results: Only the results from the very first search is from department B. As soon as the second (and subsequent) searches occur while typing, the search results are from the root department (A). Suspected reason: Adding debug prints to the scope shows that the department for the search query is only passed along for the first search. If the search is modified or being typed slowly enough so as to cause multiple searches to occur, subsequent queries don't include the department at all, thus the scope defaults to the root department. ** Affects: unity-scopes-shell (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1471914 Title: Scope search queries don't persist departments beyond the first search To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity-scopes-shell/+bug/1471914/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to look at all reported bugs in a timely manner. Is this still an issue for you? I do network manager - disable, then enable which seems to work fine on 14.04/15.04. ** Changed in: ubuntu-meta (Ubuntu) Status: New = Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/322954 Title: Need to be able to controll some devices from GUI - power management and device recovery To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubuntu-meta/+bug/322954/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1471903] [NEW] -updates, -security missing from apt lists
Public bug reported: As indicated by Robie in bug 1467830 vivid-updates is missing from /var/lib/apt/lists on the phablet images for Ubuntu 15.04. This prevents one from using apport-cli to report bugs about packages that are from the -updates pocket. (In reply to Hermann from comment #63) So by above mentioned solution to add the KDE:Applications repo doesn't work here. I've upgrade my kde packages to the Applications repo versions but the dolphin problem still exists. It works fine here. But adding this repo and installing dolphin from there is not necessary any more anyway. Dolphin 15.04.1 and kdelibs 4.14.9 are available as official update for openSUSE 13.2. What I'm wondering is also the fact that my ~/.kde4/share/apps/kfileplaces/bookmarks.xml file is really (!) huge and becomming bigger and bigger (3,5MB now). ~ ll ~/.kde4/share/apps/kfileplaces/bookmarks.xml -rw-r--r-- 1 heart users 3,5M 1. Just delete the whole folder /home/heart/.kde4/share/apps/kfileplaces/, the places are not stored there any more to fix this bug (and others). Strange that it is still growing though. It shouldn't be used at all any more. Is your system fully up to date? All kdelibs* and libkde* packages in particular? (.local/share/user-places.xbel file looking good with 2,9K) Looks ok, yes. But verify that the file is writable. If you still have problems with the latest versions, you might try to delete that one as well and start fresh. Maybe it's gotten corrupted somehow by the earlier problems... And I don't see how your plasma crashes would be related to this bug at all. (In reply to Naufal Fachrian from comment #62) Solved on openSUSE 13.2 with http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/KDE:/Applications/openSUSE_13.2/ repository enabled. Just wanna to say this bug was fixed.. Thanks to the devs! :) I think I'm also affected by this bug (openSUSE 13.2) and here when I rearrange a places entry or delete one or add a new one it gets deleted immediately again (1sec). Furthermore when I rearrange/delete/add a places entry my whole plasma- desktop crashes (and I have to do 'killall plasma-desktop plasma- desktop ' to bring it back). Also 'killall plasma-desktop plasma-desktop ' didn't bring back a working desktop in this stage :( I added then a new user in a console and logged me in with this new user and voila, there I have a perfectly working kde/dolphin (incl. places entries working here). (but 'killall plasma-desktop plasma-desktop ' and starting dolphin again now shows this newly added places entry - this is new behavior) I uploaded again a video showing my total desktop when doing above mentioned new places entry so you can see the plasma-desktop crash too. youtube link to that video - http://youtu.be/IGbEOMQTn6A (rendering could take a few nire minutes/hours from now) Really strange :( -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1422469 Title: Dolphin won't keep the folder shortcuts on Kubuntu 15.04 with Plasma 5. [Bug 1471949] [NEW] Firefox 39 crashes on startup or within a few seconds on Precise/x86
Public bug reported: This is blocking publication of Firefox 39. The build for x86 on 12.04 currently crashes on startup, or within a few seconds of startup. It's basically unusable. An example crash report is: https://crash-stats.mozilla.com/report/index/d0d97dbb-f6bc-4e4d-88ff- e5fff2150702. Unfortunately, despite the warning in the PPA description for https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-mozilla-security/+archive/ubuntu/ppa, ordinary users are still installing pre-release packages from it. It works on all other releases and on Precise/x86-64. I did test Firefox 39 with this toolchain when it was still the nightly version whilst preparing the switch to GCC 4.8, and it worked fine. ** Affects: firefox (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: firefox (Ubuntu Precise) Importance: Critical Status: Triaged ** Also affects: firefox (Ubuntu Precise) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: firefox (Ubuntu Precise) Importance: Undecided = Critical ** Changed in: firefox (Ubuntu Precise) Status: New = Triaged -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1471949 Title: Firefox 39 crashes on startup or within a few seconds on Precise/x86 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/firefox/+bug/1471949/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
