the cpu usage of xorg skyrocketed to 100%.

Update manager says: You must check for updates manually. Options: Check and
Close.
I click: Check.
It does: Updating cache.
Then says: There are no updates to install.
It says: New Ubuntu release '14.04.3 LTS' is available.
I click: upgrade.
This bug is missing log files that will aid in diagnosing the problem.
From a terminal window please run:

and then change the status of the bug to 'Confirmed'.

I can confirm that when using the package uitk on ubuntu rc-proposed
using the steps provided by Nekhelesh that I can reproduce the bug.
Therefore I have set this bug to confirmed.
This bug is also now blocking the music-app from migrating to the new
listitems.

Ok, identified the initial problem here. It's not any recent problem -
it's an issue that seems to be with appmenu-qt5 and Qt5 since the very
beginning. It's not really a bug in appmenu-qt5, more like a design
decision that Qt5 had that I wasn't aware of.
