(for whatever reason the linux-goldfish kernel needs to be built with

I have experienced the same bug on multiple brands of NIC hardware both
wired and wireless. Observing the live log, it always occurs 30 minutes
after boot. My DHCP server renews leases after an hour so I did not see
a correlation with the network configuration.

i succeeded in getting my device stuck in a frozen state. it seems alive, i can
interact with the shell, top shows processes running and updating.
trouble is, gdb t a a bt yeilds no output. bt and bt-full result in "No stack."
I did check the unity8.log and noticed the log is fairly normal,

Keyboard doesn't work for crypt passphrase
So far I am unable to debug this. I need to some help to determine how.
Is there a "shutdown log" I can view or post here. The problem is
persistent now. Ctrl+Alt+F9 only worked once and I do not know how to
capture this data. In every case I have to reboot using Sysrq REISUB
and then
I'm not sure they would consider it upstream, as they have different
goals then when the program is closely integrated into Ubuntu, I would
say it is a ux papercut for using it in unity, or other Ubuntu desktops
when launching from a file manager.

I have updated the BIOS and the problem persists.
I hibernate with the following commands
echo platform > /sys/power/disk
echo disk > /sys/power/state
The system goes into hibernation. When I start the laptop again, it
loads the image and the system stops after the third non-boot CPU is
offline.

be good to get into wily. Upstream's changelog might be more helpful

bad commit causing the kernel panic. Could you try building a kernel

I managed to hack up wpa_supplicant such that it artificially adds a
hard-coded set of non-existent APs every scan. It's not a pretty patch,
but it served the purpose of ramping up the DBus traffic generated by NM
significantly on each scan.

- I partitioned my disk into / (20GB) and /data (230GB) partitions.
- I then created /data/home/ubuntu, moved my /home there, and bind mounted
/home to /data/home/ubuntu.
- I then created symlinks for ~/Downloads, ~/Music,
I've reverted back to llvm-3.6 because 3.7 isn't going to be in main in
wily. PPA has 11.0.0 now.

Follow up - successfully installed 14.04 on VBox (Win 7 x 64 base)
after dropping the amount of memory required and turning off load 3rd
party apps as both these are mentioned as possible causes, above. Don't
know which one did the job but it is now a working system.

After installing the current 15.04 version (225-1ubuntu4) and
rebooting once this should be gone;
Same thing happens with vivid. It also appears from xinput that this
device is recognized as a regular mouse with physical buttons.

I had this exact same issue and worked around it by deleting a .lock
file (not the same one but also in ~/.config)
