Ok the trick seems to be that you have to activate the proposed repo
before installing awscli and any package it brings onto the system. So
if you already have awscli installed you should to a apt-get remove
awscli AND a apt-get autoclean and then to a fresh install of awscli,
afther that the

Actually I solved the issue:
Using CDROM didn't work, running Memtest showed up many errors. But
after resting the BIOS, installation was completed successful and even
Memtest showed a single error. Obviously BIOS settings can make your
system unstable. Please mark this issue as fixed.

Same here, bug still occurs. The longer you leave your machine on, the
better chance you hit the bug.
This is with an nvidia gtx 980, compiz 0.9.12.1 and nvidia driver 352.30

tried enabling vivid-proposed - but vivid-proposed does not offer a kernel
newer than 3.19.0-30.33

in Trusty git tree (master-next branch). Really soon we will have a
kernel in the -proposed pocket with this fix.
