[Bug 1446247] Re: Lubuntu 15.04 - No power indicator in applet indicator
By following the URL provided by Schneider, I managed to have the battery indicator back to work on Lubuntu 15.04(upgraded from 14.10). Here are my manual installation steps of xubuntu-staging without using 'apt-get dist-upgrade:' 1. goto https://launchpad.net/~xubuntu-dev/+archive/ubuntu/xubuntu-staging/+sourcepub/5186374/+listing-archive-extra and download packages based on your architecture. For example: $ wget https://launchpad.net/~xubuntu-dev/+archive/ubuntu/xubuntu-staging/+files/xfce4-power-manager-data_1.5.2-0ubuntu1%7E15.10_all.deb $ wget https://launchpad.net/~xubuntu-dev/+archive/ubuntu/xubuntu-staging/+files/xfce4-power-manager-plugins_1.5.2-0ubuntu1%7E15.10_amd64.deb $ wget https://launchpad.net/~xubuntu-dev/+archive/ubuntu/xubuntu-staging/+files/xfce4-power-manager_1.5.2-0ubuntu1%7E15.10_amd64.deb 2. get the latest libxfce4panel-2.0. For example: $ wget http://gb.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ubuntu/ubuntu/ubuntu/pool/universe/x/xfce4-panel/libxfce4panel-2.0-4_4.12.0-3ubuntu2_amd64.deb 3. install libxfce4-ui-2-0 for one of he required dependencies: $ sudo apt-get install libxfce4ui-2-0 4. update xfce4-power-manager to 1.5.x by installing .deb files downloaded in step 1 and 2: $ sudo dpkg -i libxfce4panel-2.0-4_4.12.0-3ubuntu2_amd64.deb xfce4-power-manager-data_1.5.2-0ubuntu1~15.10_all.deb xfce4-power-manager_1.5.2-0ubuntu1~15.10_amd64.deb xfce4-power-manager-plugins_1.5.2-0ubuntu1~15.10_amd64.deb 5. run xfce4-power-manager-settings command from the command line and then check that Status notifications and System tray icon are set to ON. 6. run xfce4-power-manager --restart from the command line -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1446247 Title: Lubuntu 15.04 - No power indicator in applet indicator To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xfce4-power-manager/+bug/1446247/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1502719] Re: Desktop installer erases LVM partition without warning or undo, data loss
I could not figure out what it exactly did. After I dumped the LVM2 metadata, I could see that it erased all of the logical volumes, volume group and physical volume. LVM save a buffer of all the changes and I was able to recover the original state. However, after rebuilding the PV with the old UUID and importing the old VG and LV configs some of my LV file systems were corrupted and could not be recovered. One of the old LV mounted correctly with all data, however this was not the one I was hoping to get back. [Bug 1502581] [NEW] [needs-packaging] openrc
Public bug reported: OpenRC is a dependency based init system. It provides support for System V init, for booting, changing runlevels, starting and stopping services, and shutting down. Originally written as a Gentoo project, OpenRC is 100% compatible with Gentoo init scripts. [Bug 1502598] Re: Boot hangs on encryption password prompt on 3.19.0-30
Mark Adams, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better. Could you please test the latest upstream kernel available from the very top line at the top of the page from http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel- ppa/mainline/?C=N;O=D (the release names are irrelevant for testing, and please do not test the daily folder)? Install instructions are available at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/MainlineBuilds . This will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. If the latest kernel did not allow you to test to the issue (ex. you couldn't boot into the OS) please make a comment in your report about this, and continue to test the next most recent kernel version until you can test to the issue. Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please comment on which kernel version specifically you tested. If this issue is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tags by clicking on the yellow circle with a black pencil icon, next to the word Tags, located at the bottom of the report description: kernel-fixed-upstream kernel-fixed-upstream-X.Y-rcZ Where X, Y, and Z are numbers corresponding to the kernel version. If the mainline kernel does not fix the issue, please add the following tags: kernel-bug-exists-upstream kernel-bug-exists-upstream-X.Y-rcZ Please note, an error to install the kernel does not fit the criteria of kernel-bug-exists-upstream. Once testing of the latest upstream kernel is complete, please mark this report's Status as Confirmed. Please let us know your results. [Bug 1301623] Re: unity freezes when moving windows among workspaces
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 815996 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/815996 Looks like an old nightmare returning :-) I often use workspaces and change windows between them. I've had the first "freeze" this morning. Whilst waiting a patch, y You don't need to reboot. Simply got to console (e.g. Ctrl+alt+F1), identify de gnome-session PID (ps -ef | grep gnome-session) and kill it. The graphic console will return to the login screen. And yes; it doesn't freeze if you grab the center of the screen you're moving, not the bar. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1301623 Title: unity freezes when moving windows among workspaces To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/unity/+bug/1301623/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1465685] Re: OTA4 SMS function now fails
I have tried the Phonecoop SIM for the first time since the new OTA. A 'new voicemail' message appeared in Notifications. It dates to 19 September, as it turns out. Has appeared for the first time today though. Today, I made a call twice to a short dial number. Both times it went through okay. So now I have credit ! My call to the voicemail (again using short dial) also went through without any problem. A test text message just sent without problems. It appears therefore that Phonecoop is now functioning properly again. I am still using the original SIM. Seems that the OTA must have included a fix. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1465685 Title: OTA4 SMS function now fails To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/canonical-devices-system-image/+bug/1465685/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1500757] Re: Ubiquity crashed during installation on Btrfs
Strange, yesterday I tried to reproduce the bug again (with current daily image), and this time it neither happened with an Ext4 nor with a Btrfs partition (installation was successful and old @home subvolume was correctly mounted).
