I wanted to share some status update, the emulated touchscreen troubles

Just noticed this in Xmir too. Although Xmir and Mir demo servers seem
to change the mouse cursor fine now, Unity8 hasn't implemented the same
yet.
Just try running "gedit" and expect the cursor to change between text
selection and arrow as you move it around.

I think it should be supported but some BQ community users and me have
tested it in our nearest eduroam Wlans and it seems to be not working.
When I select the .crt or .cer certificate needed for my university in
wi-fi settings through the file manager it does not connect.

As of dbus/1.10.6-1ubuntu2 (the relevant change seems to have been in
1.8.12-1ubuntu1), the Upstart job creates that directory but then
doesn't do anything with it, because the session bus address is now
stored in XDG_RUNTIME_DIR.

unity8-dash flickers when changing modes.
On my desktop (for some unknown reason) I only have three icons in the
dash, so regardless of the current mode they always all fit into the
dash window. When I switch from "All" to "Communication" and back
though, I see a frame or so
Are they type "desktop"? I'm checking this here to hopefully only apply
this to applications.

There are two of them on the side of my Intellimouse Explorer 3.0. The
kernel calls them BTN_SIDE and BTN_EXTRA. And X calls them buttons 8 and
9.

just some testing feedback:
I yesterday tried to update a Xubuntu 15.10 64bit (latest update status)
to 16.04 alpha2 with update-manager -d, which went wrong and aborted
(not a problem, was just a virtual testing machine and I made a
snapshot before upgrading, can jump
