[Bug 1413440] Re: USB stops working after a while (xhci_hcd 0000:00:14.0: Timeout while waiting for setup device command)
Does this bug happen for people after a USB drive has spun down and the computer tries to access it? My USB freezing issue goes away if I disable UAS for a particular drive. It works fine with UAS until it spins down but the USB subsystem freezes when it tries to spin it up, requiring me to reboot the PC and power cycle the drive. To disable UAS for the drive, first find its identifier with the lsbusb command. For example mine looks like this, ie with identifier 1058:1230: Bus 002 Device 003: ID 1058:1230 Western Digital Technologies, Inc. [Bug 1600095] [NEW] Nemo doesn't show directory of mounted dieectory
Public bug reported: I am having a problem on an Ubuntu 16.04 64 bit fully updated as of 8th July 2016 with Nemo 2.8.7-2~webu amd64 . I have a second harddrive mounted in fstab: UUID=1a7c6b28-9d62-428c-a2f1-00ca43cbbcf7 /media/data ext4 defaults 0 0 In nautilus I can see this directory but in nemo not. Before in nemo I could also see this but it looks to me that one update caused this. All other directories are fine only this one is not. Once I go via a shortcut in the 2nd level directory on /media/data I see folders again but I am not able to list media/data. In the terminal and nautilus all works fine. Any idea what is wrong or is this a bug? Any help appreciated. ** Affects: nemo (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1600095 Title: Nemo doesn't show directory of mounted dieectory To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nemo/+bug/1600095/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1600092] [NEW] radeon: monitor connected to onboard VGA doesn't work with Xenial
Public bug reported: [In comments on 1579481 I mentioned that I had found and cherry-picked a fix from upstream. I was asked to file another bug so that my hardware information could be compared. apport will show kernel version 4.4.0-24 but the issue is reproducible on 4.4.0-28 as well-- just didn't want to uninstall my fixed version in order to post my hardware info.] I have an AMD based desktop system with onboard/APU graphics. I have a monitor which had been hooked up via DVI until yesterday. Picked up a nice refurbished monitor which I plugged in to the onboard DVI port, and moved the other monitor to the VGA port. Ubuntu recognizes it but it does not show anything. Monitor works fine during initial boot/BIOS. dmesg says: [3.311243] [drm] Initialized radeon 2.43.0 20080528 for :00:01.0 on minor 0 [ 16.843630] [drm:radeon_dp_link_train [radeon]] *ERROR* clock recovery reached max voltage [ 16.843663] [drm:radeon_dp_link_train [radeon]] *ERROR* clock recovery failed Searching for those errors I found bug 1579481 which says it is fixed upstream, so I went searching for which commit might have fixed it, and I found this one: https://github.com/torvalds/linux/commit/c8213a638f65bf487c10593c216525952cca3690 I built a packaged kernel from xenial git source plus that one commit, and when I boot that kernel, the monitor in the VGA port works fine. Probably worth adding that commit to the official Xenial kernel since others stated that the issue is a regression. With a fresh install of 16.04 on HP 4430s laptop, I have this same issue. BT worked before I setup my wireless network, and then didn't. I also can confirm the workaround above of shutting down the laptop, removing power(battery as well), seems to correct the issue. [Bug 1581913] Re: touchpad not working or recognized (ASUS UX305)
Kelley, as per https://www.asus.com/us/Notebooks/ASUS-ZenBook- UX305CA/HelpDesk_Download/ an update to your computer's buggy, insecure, and outdated BIOS is available (300). When you update to this following https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BIOSUpdate how does this improve the situation? For more on BIOS updates and linux, please see https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs#Bug_reporting_etiquette . Please note your current BIOS is already in the Bug Description, so posting this on the old BIOS would not be helpful. Also, you don't have to create a new bug report. Once the BIOS is updated, if the problem is still reproducible: 1) Please provide the output of the following terminal command (not perform an apport-collect): sudo dmidecode -s bios-version && sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date 2) Please make a comment specifically advising on if there was an improvement or not. 3) Please mark this report Status Confirmed. If it's not reproducible, please mark this as Invalid. [Bug 1599051] Re: package shim-signed 1.16~14.04.1+0.8-0ubuntu2 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script was killed by signal (Terminated)
This bug was fixed in the package shim-signed - 1.17 --- shim-signed (1.17) yakkety; urgency=medium * update-secureboot-policy: rework setting capabilities to stop having the backup capability while showing an error message; which won't affect the Dialog debconf frontend but otherwise made the GTK frontend confusing. * update-secureboot-policy: all debconf prompts should be at priority critical: there is no good default to pick, we must prompt the user. * debian/templates: make the password inputs be standard inputs; this is an unfortunate workaround to aptdaemon not having access to the debconf password database on desktop; since the frontend runs as an unprivileged user. [Bug 1595485] Re: packages to remove from yakkety
Please note that in general, there is no need to file a bug to request removal of a source package that has been removed in Debian; these will be picked up for semi-automated removal via the 'process-removals' script from ubuntu-archive-tools. (In practice, this bug tipped me off to the fact that my runs were for some reason using stale Debian Packages files, so thanks!) What's generally more useful is to fix those packages that still depend on the to-be-removed packages, so that the archive admins don't have to track these reverse-dependencies down before removing. [Bug 1600057] [NEW] Sender Display Name with comm appears as two senders
Public bug reported: Symptom sounds similar to that described in Bug 1166206 https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1166206 When email sender display name contains a comma, it appears as if it were sent from two senders. Example: Message source: From: Something, Something DarksideThunderbird: From Something <>, Something Darkside I had 38.8.0 from trusty-updates installed when I noticed this problem and added the thunderbird-next PPA to see if it had been fixed.
