I did a test. I built the same program with gcc5 and gcc6, then I
compared the output of "readelf -a". It happens that Nautilus is right.
gcc on Ubuntu 16.10 creates a shared library by default instead of an
executable (the Type field in the ELF header is different).

I see this immediately after upgrading from 16.04 to 16.10. It's also
the case with the result area in gnome-calculator. A screenshot is
attached.

There is a file conflict:
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libglfw.so
However this is a fairly academic question now since GLFW 2 no longer
exists in yakkety and I expect attempting to fix this in Xenial would be
too much for an SRU.
If you have an idea on how to fix this, I'd happily listen to it
