This issue has always existed: the vhost code never got adapted to the
new memory layout since virtio 1.0 was introduced in QEMU 2.4. This
never broke anything on the field because the guest linux virtio drivers
seem to still be using the legacy layout, which is supported by virtio
1.0...

Fully up to date 16.04 . The initctl above restores the items, but
on moving the mouse in and out of the libreoffice panel
the menu bar vanishes, never to return.
On one occasion moving mouse in and out of the libreoffice document
twice was needed to lose the menu bar.

Don't know if this will help, but I heard that Ubuntu Mate does
something different with their network stack, so I switched (Ubuntu Mate
16.10). I had this same wifi drop with both Unity and Gnome 3, but have
had pretty much no issues on Ubuntu Mate -- one crash in a week, and I'm
not even sure

seem to "solve" it.

I think you may have misunderstood the request. I have a server that
supports multiple domains and each have their own TLS certificates.
Using the openssl client, I can connect to each of the unique hostnames.
They all map back to the same IP address.
But if I host a repo over TLS on this server,

I have a networked Canon pixma mg6320. Printing was no problem. Using
xsane I receive 'invalid argument' although the scanner is listed twice
in the opening dialog. I am able to scan using gimp. Re the SaneDaemon
tutorial I added /etc/systemd/system/saned.socket and saned@.service.

Hello Scott, or anyone else affected,
Accepted cloud-init into xenial-proposed. The package will build now and
be available at https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cloud-init/0.7.8-49
-g9e904bb-0ubuntu1~16.04.1 in a few hours, and then in the -proposed
repository.
Please help us by testing this

Similarly Brad's findings I also confirm, that upgrade to kernel 4.8
actually made things worse in my configuration. Now the system is broken
not after second suspend, but right after the first suspend and resume.
The screen comes back on, but keyboard and mouse are dead, visible
processes are
