There is a fix. Press and hold 'Shift' while booting. It should bring up
the login screen. You won't need to do this every single time, just once
after failing to boot.

I was able to debug issue. It happens when 'timeout 120 ssh' is run
without --foreground option for timeout and remote server is asking for
password. timeout without --foreground, when run from the script will
block all input from stdin, which cause ssh to hangs in the loop.

This problem keeps coming back my Keyboard is correct for a while then
it starts acting like a US even though it set as a UK. The desktop shows

I have not been running Ubuntu on this machine so can't say if it works
on any earlier version.

Alright so the problem at present appears to be that the machine is pxe
booting off of a nic with a mac address that is not showing up after the
kernel boots.
The way the boot works is the bios/efi launches a pxe network stack.

This problem was present from the beginning.
Unfortunately I have not found the time to test the upstream kernel, but
I fount a workaround for now. Interestingly there is no problem when I
turn off the workspaces feature in Unity and only work on one desktop.
